I am glad I stumbled upon this thread!!! I have been searching for a box body crown vic model for a couple years now. I have an 88 model I have been fixing up. when you have these ready to sale I will definitely be picking up about 6 of them! also I love your color choice for primer. red oxide looks so good on these cars. if you need any good reference pics for the 88-91 nose and tail let me know and I'll be more than happy to help you out.

truck parts needed.
oldskoolmini replied to oldskoolmini's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
that site is way to complicate to navigate for me. i really need parts and cant afford to buy the parts online because of my low income and and my paypal is screwed up. -
I am in desperate need of 1/25 scale 22" 5 hole or 10 hole chrome wheels 6 needed. and 6 lo-pro tires to fit those wheels. I also need a 2-ton style axle. also need a trans mount pto unit and hydraulic pump. and a dump bed cylinder. also some chrome exhaust stacks.

that truck looks great. i would love to have a 1:1 of it. thanks for participating in the build off.

Nice job Custom Hearse. that farm truck looks as if it could give a cow the ride of its life. I have not done any more work on my build. still waiting on parts and being paralyzed has its disadvantages. I can only stay in my wheelchair for a couple of hours. the rest of the time im stuck in bed. I did replace an o-ring in my airbrush so I can spray the truck. and I bought some o-rings to simulate airbags. if anyone has any 1/25 scale big rig chrome rims and tires and other assorted parts let me know.

farm truck buildoff idea
oldskoolmini replied to oldskoolmini's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
i will allow a couple of exceptions -
It is about time there was a build off for old farm trucks large and small, forgotten wrecks to barn find restored pieces. even a modified car hauler from a grain truck or something. I will be converting the amt 1950 Chevy pickup into a 2 ton flatbed dump truck. more than likely it will be stock but i do want to bag it with the straight front axle and install stacks and chrome rig rims. THE RULES 1. Must start with untouched kit or one that is just starting. 2. must be trucks from 1920-1980 3. (Optional)write up a short story about the vehicle(life of truck or found and restored type stories. 4. must be fullsize truck. no minitrucks or imports 5. conversions to larger sized trucks are encouraged.(1/2 ton turned into a 2 ton. or regular truck turned into wrecker.) 6. must post pics of progress 7. the deadline is april 1st. extra time will be allowed. LET THE BUILDING BEGIN!!!!!

I will start it when there are a couple more people on board. do think I should do the chevy a stock flatbed or lowered with stacks, chrome rig rims and chrome saddle tanks? i want to do both with one model. -

Okay. I have this idea rolling around in my head for a while to have a build off for old farm trucks large and small, forgotten wrecks to barn find restored pieces. even a modified car hauler from a grain truck or something. would anybody be interested in such a build off? I will be onverting the amt 1950 chevy pickup into a 2 ton flatbed dump truck. more than likely it will b stock but i do want to bag it with the straight front axle and install stacks and chrome rig rims. THE RULES 1. Must start with untouched kit or one that is just starting. 2. must be trucks from 1920-1980 3. (Optional)write up a short story about the vehicle(life of truck or found and restored type stories. 4. must be fullsize truck. no minitrucks or imports 5. conversions to larger sized trucks are incouraged.(1/2 ton turned into a 2 ton. or regular truck turned into wrecker.) 6. must post pics of progress 7. the deadline is april 1st. extra time will be allowed.

I am rebuilding a glue bomb I did years ago. I have already torn apart the truck and I plan to make it air bagged with wide whites and gloss black steelies with baby moons. I am undecided on paint color though. Im torn between red oxide, flat red with white scallops, flat brown, and flat orange. im leaning more towards red or orange. I plan on using the front suspension from the revell 99 silverado and doing a stock style rear trailing arm setup with a c-notch. I am also need help deciding on whether or not to use the 99 silverado engine or a straight six from the 1950 amt Chevy. I need some much needed parts. I need some steelies and wide whites and possibly some cheater slicks. I also need the rear axle and trailing arm setup, glass, driveshaft, and any straight six parts any of you may have. I will have pics up as soon as I can find my cord for my camera. opinions and ideas are welcomed
