Thanks for looking....Im NOT going to use the cowl hood.Im still not sure about color.

  3. very sweet truck. glad to not see it raised high enough to give you nose bleeds on big offroad tires lol. also like the use of the yota frame (got the same frame sittin here waitin to go under a LRE :D )

are you gonna open up the hood or leave it molded shut?

Im probably going to leave it closed....if I dont Ive got an extra 454 from the chevelle kit to use.

Looks cool! I think those wheels are supposed to be for 1/18 scale cars. I bought a bunch of wheel sets from an ebayer a couple of years ago, and they were very large. I measured them, and they came to about 26 scale inches in 1/25. They came in a blueish package. I've sold all my sets, except for one, that I'll use for a 1/20 scale old MPC 'Vette. Fits perfect on that one!

The cowl scoop looks a bit narrow. Where did you get it, what kit? Widen it, and it might work.... ;)

Yeah I think they are for 1/18 also.I got them at the flea market and because I didnt have a model there for reference couldnt really tell. The scoop is resin it was given to me by a friend that quit modeling. If I use it Im going to cut a hole in the hood and sink it a little.Im thinking more and more of not using it.Thanks for looking guys.Later.

  4. Super clean Cutty ya got there!!This body style isnt too popular with most but I like it.I just wish it didnt have the "rubber" on the bumpers. The wheels look great on this.Very period.Id like to know what color (maker and name) is that.Looks great!!

  5. New pics are outside pictures after a good waxing.Ive got the engine bay painted black, the engine painted and the interior started BUT the rechargable batteries for my camera wont hold a charge.Heres what I CAN show you.Taking me a bit longer than expected (weall know how that is) but its getting there. Thanks for looking guys!!

Im thinking off putting 23's all the way around and save the big'n'lils for another project Ive got brewing.

  6. Well....I screwed up AGAIN.I sprayed Duplicolor Sparkle Effex clear on this and it hazed up on me.I let it dry for a day and tried to polish it out.It looks a little better but not very good.I should have known better.Im thinking of stripping the wax off with alcohol and adding another coat of Testors One Coat......dunno if that will fix it.Anyway....Pics.

    Before polishing....

    After polishing......

    100_1555.jpg

I still have to get excess polish out of door line with a toothpick but you see the results. There is a bigger difference in real life compared to pics. if that makes any sense.

I was 90% sure that the clear would work because I tested it on another model I did with the same type paint and it looked good.Dunno....

Thanks for looking.Im going to try to save this....LOL.

  7. Well I finished all the shaving.I finally got a chance to paint it.Testors One Coat Lacquer De Ja Blue.Engine coming along as well as interior and suspension.Im going to add white SS stripes and clear it after I do my first BMF job!!.PICS!!!

Any links to a good BMF job or pics? This will be my first time trying it.Thanks!!Later.

  8. heres mine..it wuld have astually been easier to cut the front of the escalade and truck..at the mold line..so the hood would fit..

    any ?'s jjust ask.

MAN!!!I wish I would have seen this BEFORE I cut mine up....LOL.Oh well....live and learn...although I still have all the parts.....hmmmm.Thanks for sharing man.Two questions...is that the same Chevy kit I started with and do you have any detailed pics of the chop you did? Thanks in advance....and I hope you finish that.Give me a link if you have a page dedicated to that as well.

    Thanks for looking guys.

  9. Im beginning to start a trend for myself. In the beginning when I started back I swore I would NEVER have more than one project going at a time....LOL.Ive got three right now driving me crazy waiting on suplies and stuff to really get into them. This is the newest.Started with these two kits...

    100_1535.jpg

    Lil bit of glue....

    100_1536.jpg

Wheels Im hoping to use...may not drag frame BUT will tuck those monsters...

    100_1537.jpg

Going to cut out rear fenderwells and make a cut in bed to show suspension...

    100_1538.jpg

    Then we will be somewhere...

    100_1539.jpg

Thanks for looking....and if you have done something like this in scale...PLEASE post what you did...I need inspiration and help.

Never build while you are drinking...LOL.

  10. those wheels would scale out to 26-28 inches...

LOL...I expected 30" plus.BUT I may call them 26" and put the decals from the "Donk" kits on it.The chassis for this kit is very basic as is to be expected for a curbside kit.Anyone have examples of a kit like this built with a driveline and chassis done up?Ive been searching google and yahoo and cant find good pics.on a 1:1.let me know if you guys have any.Thanks.

  11. Sup guys....I put my Chevelle Street Fighter on hold waiting for stuff to finish it.

So here is a new one to work on.I picked this up at a lil hole in the wall hobby store.I didnt know it was a snap kit till it was too late...lol.BUT Im soooo glad I got it because I LOVE this body style.ANYWAY....here are the pics.ALSO...If anyone could help me scale the size of the wheels Im planning on using Id appreciate it.The chrome t's pictured for reference are 23" to scale.I plan on adding a rollpan to front/rear and filling in the holes for mirrors and light bar and such. Thanks for looking guys.
