  1. I purchased a Model Cars mag subscription on October 21st and still no mag. Who do I contact?
  2. This one is based off the Revell 69 Dodge Charger with wheels and tires from the AMT Charger kit (all its really good for). Custom built roll bar, push bar and antenna. Also foiled, flocked, plug wires and some PE and custom decals. I had a heck of the time getting the front end together but finally massaged it into place.
  3. A 1941 Jeep Willys MB with trailer. I now dream in shades of O.D.
  4. Subscribed! Looking forward to my first issue. Do I really have to wait 6-8 weeks or will it arrive sooner?
  5. I could be way off here but doesn't this seem a little steep? http://cgi.ebay.com/Hand-Built-Tamiya-1-12...id=p3286.c0.m14
  6. Thanks guys, I think I'm going to subscribe.
  7. Lol, same thing I thought. Great build though!
  8. Correct, and it says "click here". Click where?
  9. Is the link to a sample copy of the mag missing from this page or am I just not seeing it? http://www.modelcarsmag.com/sample.htm I was thinking about subscribing and wanted to check out the sample first.
  10. Thanks guys. There were a few things I had problems with but I'm learning as I go.
  11. Well folks, here is my first attempt at reentering models since I was a kid. It's a Tamiya 1/12 scale Ducati Desmosedici. I also upgraded to the photo-etched stand and metal front fork set. It's far from perfect but hey, it's a start.
  12. Ok, here's a question along the same line. Would you say that newer kits are far more detailed than older kits?
  13. Awesome movie! It must be one of these tracks just not sure which one: http://www.amazon.com/Deliverance-Eric-Wei...g/dp/B00005B46X
  14. Thanks everyone, glad to be aboard!!! Like a kid in a candy store checking out all these rides. Awesome! Lots of fun building those things and getting out in the woods and crawling with them but man it gets expensive. You can easily drop @ $1200 into each rig. As one that likes to tinker, I found I kept wanting to build more and more yet found little time to get out and actually mess around with them. I see that static can add up as well but it's not nearly as expensive. It's a lot easier to justify with the boss, I mean wife.
  15. Thanks for the reply. I know it was a generalized question but just wanted to be sure there was nothing I had to be wary of before I started buying up some more kits.
  16. My first newb question so go easy on me. I was just wondering what brand kits would be considered "better" than others? By "better", I'm wondering are there kit manufactures that tend to make more detailed, more complex kits compared to another manufacturer? Are there some brand kits that are just best to avoid?
  17. I'm not sure if this is the correct section for this but I just wanted to say "howdy" to everyone here. After building several scale rc crawlers I came to realize that I enjoyed building them more than using them. Plus they get real expensive, real quick. So I figured I'd try my hand at models. Besides, if I plan on staying married I better find a cheaper hobby. I haven't built a model since I was a kid, I'm 37 now so I'm sure things have changed a bit. I recently bought a few kits off the bay, just need to get started. By the way, I'll try to use the "search" function as much as possible to avoid too many silly noob questions. Here are a few photos of my rc's:
