Lots going on there. Some good looking starts to things. I will soon be trying to shape some windows. I'm going to try clear styrene in hot water, to shape.

Thanks for your comments. I may have to try the baseball cards. Everything else I’ve tried doesn’t seem to work.

Wow that’s a lot of work on this but the outcome will be worth it. Hope to see you get this one done.

Wow that is amazing work, I wonder if you have tried to make a wooden buck and then heat plastic over the buck then trim. Just a thought. Would love to see this finished, keep it up!
I have a buck for it. i really don’t know why this one is so hard to make a canopy for. Hopefully I can make one soon.

Excellent work. Definitely watching this one.

This is one I started about 13 years ago but could never get the canopy right so in storage it went. Amt 53 corvette that I moved the interior back and did major surgery to the body (there’s just too much to list). Semi scratched built frame ,made front spindles, exhaust made from round tubing. I resin cast a Mercedes straight 8, scratched built brackets and exhaust and intake manifold. I have most everything needed to get it done but have been unable to get the canopy right. I have tried to vacuum form it with different thickness of clear plastic but all have tuned into a disaster. Any help on what to do for the canopy would be appreciated. I included a picture of the real car. Thanks for looking

Wow. That’s a lot of work but it looks like it paid off.

Started life as an AMT 53 corvette that was missing a lot of pieces. Started by moving interior back 1/2 inch and redoing the door lines. Molded in front and rear lower body panels. Of course I had to add the futura canopy to the top. Peaked the front fenders and added fins to the rear quarters. Used tubing for the rear lights, and exited the exhaust out the sides. Most of the frame was broken into pieces so i added a nascar front suspension and used plastic sheet and flat stock to connect everything together. Motor is from a camaro. I made exhaust manifolds, exhaust pipes, and mufflers.

You could leave it exactly as it is, and I would still LOVE it! What a great silhouette it has. 👏
It’s gotta have paint!! Thanks for your comment

Being a C1 owner and big fan of early solid axle Corvettes, I am super impressed with your efforts. Excellent stuff...
This is the other vette. It’s a 53 that was another kit that was missing half the parts. But I have several futura canopies so I thought I would use them. I will post this one with in a couple days.

The dual canopies give it a mini batmobile look. I'm liking it.
The canopy is taken from the futura.

I have my wife bringing different types of plastic containers from the grocery store. So far nothing has worked out. If all else fails I may have to go a different route on the canopy. I have a few futura canopies left. Lol
