  1. Looks very period correct. I'm pretty sure those up tops are being discontinued if they haven't been already. So any body that wants one should contact Ed Fluck at Drag city resin ASAP.

I can't find a model for that generation only 77 but I can keep looking the problem is is having a full body design is very expensive and I don't have time to design a full car

Don't worry about it, not that important just one of many ideas in my head to build a drag car out of. Thanks anyway though.

  3. OK. Since I'm the one who posted looking for a link, here's the deal. I had a guy tell me just last week that a guy going by the name of RESINBLOB sells on Ebay, and used to make a body, that I'd be interested in, so in doing a search for RESINBLOB on Ebay I couldn't find him so I did a Google search and it lead me to this thread, I wasn't really concerned with how old the post was, just a shot in the dark to find that Ebay seller.  I didn't even see any of these replies until George told me about it. So now that I started an argument lets just let it rest.

Teddy , The cob web is done with a acrylic lacquer, I just so happened to have a Qt of unopened 40 year old candy burgundy in my stash, the trick is to

“ Under “ thin the lacquer and shoot from your airbrush till the paint sprays out in a “ Hair “ that will be you cob web , it’s that easy !! Thanks for asking !

OK, thanks, I remember the technique in full size car painting with a siphon spray gun, but wasn't sure if it would work with an airbrush. I'll have to give it a try.

Thanks, Ted. They really do make great looking drag cars! I cast a lot of parts, but haven't tried a body. I only cast small parts for my own models, so they may not be pristine. They're workable, though, and that's all I need!🙂

Same here, I started trying to do small parts and learned a lot, got some usable parts and some trash, then I got adventurous/curios to see if I could do a body. It gave me new respect for those who do it and again, I learned some things and got a few rough but usable bodies. Overall a very good experience and I'm glad I tried even if they didn't turn out perfect. I most likely won't try anymore bodies (but you never know), as most bodies I have 1 would be enough, or maybe 2 would be better so I'm not sure it's worth the investment in silicone since it takes a lot to make a body mold and if you mess up, you wasted the money and you'd have to start all over.

Ya, I sell or try and sell my models ( some ) when done as room is getting to be a problem. I have 6 display cabinets in the house and 2 in the garage and just can't store them all.

I do the same thing, some of my friends can't believe I would sell them, but like you said there is only so much room. I get my enjoyment from building them, and keep pictures of the ones I sold.

I can try to list them for you...

front and rear bumpers narrowed and molded in. Front bumper is also mounted upside down. B Pillars added. Trunk opened. Hood resized, front portion of hood molded in.Grille area filled in, headlights molded in. Rear spoiler was scratch built, scoop is from the Jukebox Ford kit.

there may be more...but that’s what I can think of!

    Thanks, That's a big help!

  8. WOW I love this!! I have been planing to do the same thing but haven't started yet, just gathered up parts so far.

I'd like to know what body modifications you made but I'm sure if you are like me and it was a long time ago you probably don't remember, I don't even remember what happened a month ago.
