The Prancing Horse(Cavalinno Rampante)emblem was on Italy's top fighter ace's aircraft of WW 1, Count Francesco Baracca. He was killed by ground fire while on a low level strafing run.Years later his Mother presented the emblem to Enzo Ferrari for use on his road and racing cars. Both Families were from the same area of Italy(Emilio Romanga).Btw,those images of the burning Ferraris are sure hard to take for this Tifoso.

The New Scuderia F10

Looking forward to this season.Hope the Scuderia has forgotten about last year."Andiamo Felipe e Fernando!" "Forza Ferrari!" -
There are some aspects of our hobby that i do not have a clue how to do. Just wondering(hoping?)if someone can make up some decals for me.I am working on the Fujimi Ferrari 430 Challenge and i would love to put Ferrari of Long Island decals along the rear flanks.Thank you.

Favorite Car of all time?
Len Colombo replied to christopherparke69's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
No question,1962 Ferrari 250 GTO. -
This should indeed prove to be an interesting season what with all the rule changes. The Brawn team has been an eye opener to say the least.Massa has said that they will be Ferrari's main competition this year.I had not heard about that news concerning LH.Of all the teams, the Tifosi root more for the car rather than who's driving it.It would be strange to see LH in the red car none the less.On another note,i wonder how many front wings will be knocked off on the first turn in Australia?Well, here is this Tifoso rooting for another great year for Scuderia Ferrari.Hopefully a one,two in the WDC and the Constructor's title."Forza Ferrari!!!

Would like to hear thoughts and/or comments on the new rule where the driver's title will be won by the driver who has the most wins.More aggresive driving?

One of the F1 websites has a story about an all U.S. Formula One team starting up.It's supposed to have it's launch later this month.Peter Windsor(one of the F1 announcers on SPEED)is supposedly involved with the team. The headquarters will be in Charlotte N.C. and they're scheduled to satrt racing in 2010.

Martin Whitmarsh(the new McLaren team pricipal)has said that team driver Lewis Hamilton couls tie or even break Michael Schumacher's record of championships.Any thoughts or comments?

Formula 1 70 days and counting

Not exactly the most graceful looking car from the Scuderia.Obviously it all has to do with the new regulations. How many of these front wings will be knocked off as all the cars go into the first corner.Massa has already said that the new car is more difficult to drive than last year's car.As always,"Forza Ferrari!!"

Anyone else getting excited over tomorrow's last GP race?It should be quite interesting to say the least.I'm sure Massa is pumped up being on pole in front of his home fans. Will Wonderboy Hamilton get his blood in a boil and try to show them and then do something rash?I hope that it does not rain(there is a chance)No more Safety Car fiascos please!
-
Anyone catch the news on the F1 websites about Ferrari saying they will leave F1?It's over the FIA's proposal to have a third party supply engines and transmissions in the 2010,2011 and 2012 seasons. The FIA wants to curtail spending and they think this is one way to go.Ferrari says this goes against the spirit of competition and are not thrilled with the idea.
-
Anyone care to comment on what Wonderboy Hamilton said after he won the race."God was on his side as always".Here's hoping that one of the other drivers who are less than thrilled with L.H.come to the aid of Felipe in his home race(Brazil)I hope he and Ferrari did not throw the WDC away with their bungled pit stop in Singapore.

Singapore Grand Prix
Len Colombo replied to Nick F40's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I was very excited and happy to see Felipe leading the race.He and the car looked very strong. Then the safety car came out and all sorts of bad things happened. When i saw that refueling hose break away from his car my jaw just dropped. It reminded me of the bad old days when a Ferrari pit stop was something less than a work of art. Then when Kimi hit the barrier with three laps remaining, that was the icing on the cake.Ferrari is hoping on three one-two's in a row.I think that the dream team(Todt,Brawn, etc.)is sorely missed by us Tifosi. -

My Mistake.Kimi is actually third on the grid. -
Qualifying at Singapore
Len Colombo replied to Nick F40's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Great news for F.Massa and Ferrari.Hope it will be another Valencia.Kimi is in fourth spot on the grid which is good news considering his qualifying woes in the past.Hopefully the rain will stay away.We all know what happens when that Safety Car comes out.Btw,why is the Safety Car a Mercedes?Conspiracy?I think not ;>)"Forza Ferrari!!! -
Lewis Hamilton's Verdict in!
Len Colombo replied to CAL's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
CAL, I would like to find out where you read that remark from Wonderboy stating that he is "the best in the world".I have been on my F1 websites and i have not found that. The sheer arrogance and gall.McLaren's appeal was ruled inadmissable because according to the rules there was nothing McLaren could lodge an appeal against.Ron Dennis and his antics are becoming rather tiresome. -

I was very pleased to see that there are posts concerning the Italian Grand Prix.I will be back to view posts after each of the remaining Grands Prix.If anyone knows me from another message board it's well know that i am a huge fan of Scuderia Ferrari.I thought it would be sour grapes if i had mentioned the rather apalling driving of Wonderboy Hamilton.I'm glad to read that i'm not alone in this opinion.PLEASE Felipe, overtake Hamilton and stay there."Forza Ferrari!!!"
