  1. Started doing a School Project on a possible Future Career, what does this have to do with this build, the career was Commercial Truck Driver. Anyway still slowly working forward, until I cracked the body work on the back of the cab on the point where the roof meets the back of cab, so I taped off the white and started repairing that, hows that song go, two steps forward, 3 steps back Got a bit done on the bed, BMF, Tailights installed over some aluminum BMF, handles aren't done. the chrome parts in the bed are MPC Trans Am Firebird Custom Gas caps from the Annual kits, both will need BMF'ed due to the fact that the chrome on them is 33 years old. As for the cab I taped off my white, The rest will be yellow, so basically what's yellow will be white and what's white will be yellow, and I created the back of cab trim, it'll need BMF'ed and detail painted. lots more to do. Nick Edit: Noticed the god awful scratch on the corner of the bed, that'll need fixed and touched up.
  2. Adam have you ever known me to not work hard or build box stock, this car isn't even going to mildly resemble the box when I'm done, but that's a project for later right now I already have too many. Nick
  3. Matt, sorry to hear about the Flu, it's been a contributing factor to my absence in this build. Anyway managed to do something, sprayed 1 coat of Duplicolor GM Frost White, which I thought showed up in the 80's turns out it was there back in '76 also, still needs 1 more coat of white, then the cab gets masked for the yellow. Sorry about the pictures, I wasn't in the mood to crack out the desk lamp and such. Nick
  4. That is sweet looking Ian, I love Keiths Decals to, Although the last I used where more than just the scripts
  5. You got my green backs, I'd have to haveatleast 4 sets each of #3 and #4
  6. I don't think so Charlie But I will Continue using Imperial. yeah I'll be damnned If I know how that works.
  7. How did I miss this one! Wow, the color suits it so good. Like the opening doors too. Nick
  8. May I ask if this is a kit or Resin piece? looks very good. Nick
  9. Well all my lights are wired properly and soldered then taped with vinyl electrical tape for that specific reason, considering this sits under neath my paint cabinet. Nick Edit: Something tells me that if it did catch fire there would be one heck of a boom.
  10. For me I have shelfs on two walls in my shop, not full walls, but enough to display what I have. Nick
  11. I used cheapo dollar store craft paints, there water based acrylic, I bought them for interiors and painting tire lettering, but they always seem to have another use. They work like me, I can go all over a car and only get grease on my arms and hands, then again my last oil change left me wearing a bit more than most people, stupid drain plug, Like I said it's still a work in progress and I think I will do some dry brushing on them, thanks for the suggestion. Nick
  12. Thanks guys, still a lot of stuff to do, sanding edges, seems etc.
  13. Looks pretty darn good. I liked this F350 too What you want to post your pictures like that is the IMG Code from the drop down when you put your mouse over a picture then click it and paste it. hope that helps. Nick
  14. Dang I need one of these to go with the rest of your products I have don't need it yet though so for now don't put me down for one. Nick Still waiting on my Monaco so I can start my project using your steelies and 727, and well the drum brake wheel back and well the 8 3/4 rear end
  15. Donald just my 2 cents, but those items sound easily sold, camera's, Tv's, model kits and tools all sell fairly easy. If I was you I would check local internet selling listings for your things. Nick Edit: it does suck my elderly grandmother has had it happen twice, and she has an alarm service they too weird stuff to, except we can't replace them, they took my now deceased grandfather pocket watch and some other things belonging to him and some jewelry given to my grandmother by my grandfather. yet they left cash and flatscreen tv's. Dosen't make sense to me. The stolen things never surfaced, I keep checking.
  16. my mechanics Fred Red Ed any imput would be great. Nick
  17. Well I've been chomping at the bit to build another dio, and the other day I glued together and painted some Tamiya Mechanics I got in a trade from Rodney (Zukaholic), well with mechanics I had to build a garage. I lucked out and helped my cousin Jeff clean out his home shop, He's a contractor, so We found all kinds of tools and scraps of wood, most of which followed me home the peice I used was the lest warped/bowed/cuped, they all had quite the curve to them this was the best, the walls consist of 1/8th" paneling, the outside light is just a single christmas bulb, running off a 9 volt battery and a 6 volt switch. it's not perfect, but where getting there, still needs a lot of finishing work and it's only in rough right now. I'm an Imperial guy, hense the old inches markings and such. Edit: changed the name of the shop.
  18. That is beautiful, looks like something my uncle was doing around november on his farm, in Warkworth, not sure if you've been out towards Belleville, I've been east ward to Barrie and Kitchener a few times. Nick
  19. That looks very cool, I always like the non main stream cars myself, rather than the '58 Fury or Belvedere, I liked the Savoy Club coupe I know I know I'm weird.
  20. If those are from the General Lee kit, then those are American Racing Vector I wheels with Carrol Shelby Racing center caps or so there supposed to be based off.
  21. In the rear it would most likely have a 12 bolt or a Dana 44 if you don't mind, this is a picture of a 4WD set up I did for a '76 1 ton on the same frame. Of course I used a Dana 44 up front as you could get on 3/4ton and 1 ton GM truck with 4WD and the rear is a Dana 60 also as per the 3/4ton, 1 ton specs. I do have another '77 GMC K1500 but I haven't started the suspension for it yet. my Dana 44 front. (sourced from MPC/AMT '53 ford f100 flipnose) front and rear with frame (the springs are scratchbuilt from styrene and the rear Dana 60 is the kit piece from the Revell wrecker) ride height For the 12 bolt there's a beautiful one in the stock Revell '99 Silverado noticing you also said drive train, for the engine if you have a AMT '67-'72 GM truck engine and a AMT '86 El Camino SS engine you can build a stock 350-4 barrel with a turbo 400 transmission. (below is my engine, aircleaner, exuast manifolds and transmission are from the El camino 305, the rest is the GM truck 350, not sure where the transfer case is from it was resin) You'll also need a GMC grille, this is for a '76 GMC but the way I'm gonna explain you can use to do the '77, I started with the stock '76 ish chevy grille and cit the inside bars out so that all I had wasthe headlight area's and the grille surround, I then used sheet stock cut into strips and build up the shape, I also cut the letters from sheet and added them, then I added a piece of sheet stock across the back and painted it bflat black, then I bmfed most of the grille, leaving the iside of the headlight area's out. I painted the GMC letters and was done. I also drilled the lights out, but you don't need to. hope this helps.
  22. Looks like a fun project. I like that yellowy orange spoon, it's a not often seen color.
