  1. I was suscessful in getting the suspension raised on the Jeep and fabricated a dual-carb manifold. Trying to figure exhaust, because the advantage of a Jeep over other vehicles was that they were quieter. Recon was not a time for zoomies! LOL!! Pics to come sometime. New camera still puzzles me. But I can stop the 12:00 from flashing on my old VHS. (I unplugged it) Life at 60...beats the alternative.
  2. Hi Folks, I've remarkable luck in using .010", .015", and .020" styrene plastic rod instead of traditional methods for hoses, wires, etc. It is very flexible and very easy to work with. I built an entire T-Bucket's hosing and wiring using styrene. VERY convincing with just a tad of work. I've found Poly Scale Tranished Black is a good color for black hose. And, Plastruct makes hex rod in styrene. Good stuff. Dave Pye
  3. Hey all, I know some of us build ATV-type vehicles, and I'm starting a new one that I think has some promise. I've long admired the WWII British Special Air Services and their personnel and vehicles. So, I figured an SAS Jeep would be a fun project for several reasons. First, Tamiya (and others) makes a nice Jeep, and there are a lot of aftermarket parts. But, what reallt got my attention is that each crew "customized" their Jeep to their specs for each mission. These guys would go out for weeks at a time, both in North Africa and in Europe, raising their special forms of mischief. I think someone had to have hot-rodded one of these Jeeps. Dual carbs....maybe a cam...gotta out run Rommel and Generalleutnant Heinrich Freiherr von Lüttwitz somehow! In any case, Google the WWII SAS and you'll find some interesting off-road ATV vehicles!
