  1. You are right. IMSA rules made it mandatory that the feet of the driver did not go past the front axle. That and that I am not sure they did a 956 in the short tail/high tail configuration. ###### nice car though. i actually get to hang around these from time to time at my buddies Porsche race shop. I have a set of wheel louvers from one of the Miller Beer cars.
  2. I've tried a couple of types of paint. The spray can stuff is wayyyy to thick. The MCW lacquer was very easy to shoot. 26 psi. 3 coats. It does seem to suck up the clear coat though.
  3. Rick; The paint is STP red lacquer from Model Car Warehouse and the decals are from www.Indycals.net. That guy makes excellent decals. The kit is NOT up to modern standards. Another big hint: Use a straight pin to attache the rear wing into the top of the transmission. Mucccch sturdier.
  4. We had a horse training client that actually taught their cat to use the toilet!! They did it by first training to the litter box and then put the littter box on the toilet. They then gradually made a hole in the box. I guess it took a few weeks but they did it. Any cats I own always live in the barn. We only have one currently, but she supervises the labs.
  5. To add to all of this, I am also good friends with Bobby Unser. A few years ago he sent me a Carousel model of his 75 winning Eagle with his autograph on the hood. I've been going to Indy since I was 4 and have had some small tech sponsorships on a couple of cars. I agree that the seventies were really the best. Some great battles in the 80's and early 90's. I have boycotted the last two years. It's all turned into a spec series much like a high powered go cart series.
  6. I gotta tell you that I saw that Round door at the Petersen. Fascinating story. The thing was at the scrap yard! To see it in person is something. The car is huge!!!
  7. While I am a Marketing exec, I actually probably know horses better than what I know for a living. Animals and cars are my life. Marketing is what pays the bills. There is no worse feeling than losing one of our friends. The thing to remember is that it is actually a blessing that we feel that way in that we at least have the sensitivity to let that feeling come into our lives. in an age when everything has a re-set button or all the answers are merely on a spreadsheet, feeling an emotion that comes from caring is something that is human and cannot be replaced. I lost two horses and a lab in one year. I would of rather had a needle in the eye and be kicked in the groin than go through that. "I like pigs. Cats look down on you, dogs look up to you. Pigs look at you on the same level." -[/i]Winston Churchill
  8. This is out of the old AMT kit. A challenge to build but worth it. This car is special to me. While it isn't my best work, I saw the car race at and get destroyed at Indy. Swede was a great racer. I had to scratch build the shifter and linkage from a etch metal window crank and some round stock.
  9. David, you and Clay Kemp are two builders that I follow. I am always amazed at what you produce. When will this one grace the model magazines? Awesome.
