Funny thing about this car is I have not found them yet. Most of their cars had the decals but I looked all over and couldnt find it. I also did not place the number on top or the drivers names. The last photos I took of the car had nothing but the Porsche decals below the doors and the Schumacher Racing on the hood.

Made the decals this weekend in illustrator.

Very well done! Looks much better than the box art suggests.

More clean up and painting has begun. I painted the body with urethane base coat and the purple is a mix of auto air water based paint. This is the first time I used auto air paint. It is different to work with. If applied correctly according to the label it looks like splatter the first couple of coats. The last few coats smoothed out the color. Top coated with hok urethane clear to make sure I could mask and clean up the white without pulling the purple off. The scribing of the doors is more evident here. Deep and clear but there is no darkening required and they are to scale in width.

I did have to heat the resin nose and bring the tops in at both fenders. This only took a few minutes and it was done. The best part is the 10 second dunk in boiling water seemed to remove all the oils etc.. from the resin. I scribed the panel lines deep and primed the body. You can see the effort to in my opinion properly scribe the doors paid off. Deep lines that really set the panels apart and no painting or darkening of the lines will be required later. (note these are half as wide as a number 11 blade to give you an idea of why they look the way they do.)

Great job on the paint. If I remember correctly it was not the easiest task to mask off the front and keep lines clean like yours.

The conversion kit is about $15.00 Not that bad compared to most.... Scale Productions also made a 1997 version for the same price.

I found an error with the wheels. Both in paint and style. I had to remodel the wheels to a single stud mount and after taking all of the time to mask and paint the wheels I found that the wheels did not have the polished outer rim but were also painted white. Added air intake pipes to the lower front of the rear fenders and an oil fill on the side rear above the fender. Also grafted the 98 style nose on the car. Some scribing wil be in order to replace the panel lines.

I am building a Tamiya GT-2. The base kit is the Taisan kit. so far I have removed the front bumper in preparation of a new resin nose. Removed most body details like hood pins, antenna base, windshield wiper posts etc.. The specific car I am building to replicate has a lot of changes to air flow for cooling. Vents have been added behind the front wheels. On the back bumper section I have cut slots on each side and placed holes on the back of the car. Still more body changes to make before adding the resin nose but it is going well so far. Chassis is mostly complete and waiting for test fitting of interior parts. I will be making some changes to the interior from the Tamiya kit but they are mostly small detail items such as different fire extenguisher, battery box, dash parts, console etc..
