  1. WOW, I think that is the best rendition of that kit I've ever seen.
  2. yeah after priming and after painting. this is how i did it because that is how they say to do it in the tutorial in the tips, tricks section. I guess you could try the other way.
  3. Welcome to the board.
  4. Thanks, the paint is a little more stubborn to off. The primer came of easily but i'm having to really use some elbow grease to get the paint off. Still looks way better the foiling after though. Will continue to use this trick.
  5. What paint did you use Billy. I always wanted to build one of these. This color scheme looks real nice.
  6. Both are awesome but I definately like this one better than the black one also.
  7. I remember your build up from the other list. Your car is what made me want the Daytona Orange.
  8. For a while there I think I got bogged down trying to get that Steve Boutte and now Craig Naquin paint job. Started to not be fun anymore. I've been pretty successful with taking home some contest hardware with my way, so I figured I'll just keep on truckin with what I like to do and the rest will fall into place. Later, Ray.
  9. Haven't finished a kit in close to 2 years. Last year was kinda shot with hurricane Katrina and all but finally I'm getting back to the bench. They are not contest winners but that is ok because I just want to get some stuff finished to get the juices flowing again. So far so good. 70 Road Runner, duplicolor garnet red. wheels will be stripped of chrome and painted body color also with chrome dog dish center caps. 67 Impala painted with left over paint that my friend painted his car with. Don't know the brand. These 2 I'm just having fun with getting back into the swing of building. The 2005 Corvette will probably be my next out the box contest entry. Depending on how the rest of the build goes. So far it's primed with Cobra Color VX primer, awaiting Cobra Colors Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic. First time spraying these paints and I must say they spray super nice with little to no additional thinning. Take this from a guy who HATES thinning paint to spray through the airbrush.
  10. my favorite kit. nice job.
  11. The picture is kinda crappy but you get the idea. Worked awesome after primer. Hopefully after paint I get the same results.
  12. Love the 2 tone. Color are wild.
  13. that is gorgeous, what color is that?
  14. One of my favorites. Might as well post the 66 elky now.
  15. nice pics, awesome looking show. Thanks for sharing.
  16. Thanks everybody. I'm trying Craig. I'll take some pic of the in progress stuff I'm working on. Nothing special, won't bring them to any contests either, just trying to make some nice shelf models to get the old juices burning. It's hard to find spare time with a 9 month old constantly at your heels. ha ha
  17. Looks good. Way more body mods than I would ever attempt. But keep it up, looks nice.
  18. Just looking through old pics, found a couple of my old builds. Just thought I'd share
  19. I don't have one (but I want one) but I hear Sherline is the best.
  20. Welcome, I'm new here myself. Great bunch of folk here though. Ray
  21. Vince had a 69 Camaro on the cover of Car Modeler. Ray
  22. Is this the stuff you use for your mask? Love your tutorial, hope to give it a shot. Ray.
