nice model!!! as far as vans go I ran into a mid 80's dodge full size... it had the full-on 70's graphics, and the first though that came to mind was a v-10 powered one with the same wheels as above^^

decided to work on the kit a bit tonight by removing the battery and heater hoses... the battery is obviously gonna go in the truck, and i have to many others kits i want to work on to open up the truck.. I've never had too much skills when it comes to opening panels, but i'll add it to my list of things to do I wasn't sure on what to do about the windshield wiper motor and then i had an idea after i found the adhesive foil from the parks distributor kit... I used to go to the mopar nationals religiously in woodburn, and recaled all the mopars that were semi-budget with dulled up tin-foil and whatnot... I quickly cut-up some foil and threw it up on the firewall to cover up the hole.... Problem Solved! Theres still a lot of work to do!

I love the history of this build... It makes looking at it that much sweeter. I don't suppose you would have any info on the turbine car or repco indy? Those too would be some nice kits

im flat-out lovin the blown flathead!! thats one crazy farm-truck... lemme guess its for those emergency visits to the vet?

well nothing i can do about the steering wheel now... this model has so much glue i'll probably damage something trying to correct anything.. As far as fitment goes, the rearend, the interior, glass, and chassis were all way off, especially where the front meets the firewall... I found that if everything I glued together strong enough to hold yet wet enough to move, well i just kind of pushed everything together, threw a rubberband on it and let it cure overnight... its still very far from acceptable, but some glue, and touch-ups will help it be more complete... I think the biggest factor was the paint that i had to sand down to get proper cement curing... I think it'll turn out ok, I just think the model was made more complicated than it should have been... for example, the firewall cannot clearly be installed correctly until the point its ready to be cured with the chassis and body... the instructions tell you otherwise...

very nice and tastefully done if you ask me... I love the belts and the paintjob! what are you're plans for the engine? a paxton blown 327 would be cool!

Sorry for not updating sooner... I got carried away with the need to finish this, so I went crazy with gluing and touching up... unfortunately I managed to ruin my window trim in the process, but nothing a bit more paint can't fix... I installed the shifter without the console, since I knew any drag car isn't going to have a lump of chrome between the seats... I probably should have left the windshield wiper motor out, but there would have been a big hole there, plus those rainy eastern tracks wipers can come in handy... Headers are painted with a slight mix of black and chrome to accent the piping... I also drilled the collectors out and painted the inside flat black... If there is one thing I know its that Hemi's use A LOT OF GAS! lol The rubber band came in handy to glue everything together and let stand overnight... I was appalled at the fit of this model... so much sanding, bending, melting, and trimming were necessary to keep the thing solid and accurate... one more reason why good kits are expensive! more chassis pics that's all for now.. ill try and get at it again asap.... thanks for looking!

thank you gary... i also want to thank Lee for donating a set of HEMI headers that are gonna make this thing look really nice when its done... i'll try and do some work on it tonight, buts its getting late and i have the day off tomorrow... i think i may add two door bars to the homemade cage, and maybe raise the back up a tad... I don't recall having this kind of enthusiasm for a build, and i owe a lot of that to the outstanding members of this forum!! thanks go out to all!!

gold with a black cage? other than that i love your project! i have quite a few friends that have internationals, so there is a soft spot i have for them as well... keep it up!!
