  1. Yeah if you Google "Earth Verses the Flying Saucers" you will see several of Ray Harryhausen's Movie Models...
  2. THE BIG BASE! This Base and another Flat Base came with Plastic Display Cases for 25th scale cars. This is the extra Base, I'm using it for the House. I fit the House Kit's Base on this one and Cut-Out an access hole. Here is the Grey House Base glued in place on the Big Base. I cut-out Sheet Plastic to bring the Black Base height up to the House Base, so they are level & flat. Then I sprayed some Grey Filler-Primer over the Base. I needed this larger Base because I will be fitting the switch and batteries inside. More Coming...
  3. Thanks Lee! I'm working on a Diorama called "San Francisco Verses the Flying Saucers". It's a tribute to Ray Harryhausen, an Amazing Modeler and Movie Maker...
  4. PAINTING THE HOUSE! This is a Great kit. The Plastic is molded into 4 different colors plus clear. I painted the house with my own flat colors, then added washes and sprayed with Dullcoat. The Roof was sprayed with Grey Primer, then I brushed on The Detailer-Black. Some Dullcoat was then sprayed on the Roof. I replaced most of the plastic kit windows with thin clear plastic sheet. I did use the kits Bay Windows. Four different styles of Curtains came with the House. I cut open some of the Curtains so we can see inside. Then I taped them inside of the Windows. Here is what it looks like after the Windows and Curtains have been added. More Coming...
  5. Thanks Bob! The Sheriff is Driving the Ferrari...
  6. PRIMETIME!!! I applied a few coats of Dupli-Color Filler/Primer to the Saucer. Top View! The Top-Center Section will not be glued in place, so I can access lights & batteries. The Underside! The Bottom-Center Section will attached to the Saucer with magnets, no glue. More Coming...
  7. Thanks for the kind words Richard! So glad you like it...
  8. BOTTOM-CENTER! I found that the Top to the Costco Salt Shaker was the perfect diameter for the Bottom-Center Section of the Saucer. I held the pencil and turned the Top to make a cut line... I cut the excess off with a Cut-Off Wheel. I sprayed a little Primer on the Top and after it dried I found center on the Top. Then I scribed a Circle for the "Elevator". The Laser Cannon will be located in the Center... More Coming...
  9. Beautiful Work Richard! Very Realistic...
  10. HERE WE GO!!! I glued the Bottom Section of the Saucer to the Section I cut out of Sheet Plastic. Then I glued them into the inside of the Tupperware. I glued the Top Saucer Section on to the Tupperware. I left the Blue Top Piece unglued for access to lights & magnets. More Coming...
  11. SLOTS! The Bottom Section of the Saucer needs some Slots, like the ones in the Movie! I measured and marked the Slot Positions all the way around. I started Scribing with a Needle Sharp Point, gentle at first until I got a good lines in. Then I switched to a wider Scribe and went over the lines several times more. I used the end of a file to make the Slot a little Wider. More Coming...
  12. BIGGER BOTTOM! The Bottom Section of the UFO needs a Larger Outer Ring. I cut one out of sheet plastic with the X-Acto Trimming Compass. I decided to cut holes in the centers of the Top & Bottom Sections. The Dremel Tool with a Cut-Off Wheel made the job Quick & Easy! This will give me access for adding Lights & Magnets later. The Bottom Section of the Saucer had a Raised Rim in the center. I removed it with an X-Acto Knife and Sandpaper. More Coming...
  13. I Know! The texture on the Tupperware is very similar to the Rowell UFOs surface texture...

    Great Weathering! Love the Dents...
  17. FITTING THE TOP! I traced the shape of the Top on to Sheet Plastic and cut the circle out. After Sanding and Leveling I joined the Circle of Plastic and the Top with Zap-A-Gap, Green Label Glue. I cut out a smaller Circle of Plastic and glued it in the center of the Tops bottom. Here is the Top being Test Fit... More Coming...
