  1. Very, very nice work. Great weathering, detailing and overall execution. May have to find me one of them old Mack kits.
  2. Greetings Chris - Thanks for the general overview of the new machine and how you are using it. Wow, if you will be doing more than one version of anything, especially if it is custom, once you get it drawn all you have to do is drink coffee and watch that TV you have while it does all the work. A very nice item to have at your disposal and it really sounds like you'll be getting a lot of use out of it given the future projects you have planned. Thanks for sharing - oh, and I understood you just fine.
  3. Chris, you have it looking really great and boy would I like to have a "hobbie room" so nice as your's. I like the others sure hope you do NOT have another flood! At least not this century Tell us more about this new computer aided machine. Name, model where you got it, what you plan to do with it and how do you use it. Maybe even a short tutorial?? Sounds like it has some very exciting possibilities for our hobby.
  4. Chris, really nice start and love the bed work. What are you using for reference material to do this build? Anything besides imagination?
  5. WELL DONE :!: :!: Complete with decals on the frame and plastic coverings on the new seats. Details, details, details.
  6. Hi Casey, thanks for sharing those really great photos. Nothing like a good pic of one of them red oval kinda rigs!
  7. I'm really impressed with your "outsider" knowledge, simply amazing. Oh, and like FlatbedKW, I wouldn't have guessed you to be a "Police Officer" , either. Looks like state police :?:
  8. Tim, Once again, amazing work :!: :!: I'm just overwhelmed at your knowledge of trucks and in particular the Petes. I'm curious to know, are you involved with the trucking industry in some way with your occupation or do you do something completely different :?: If you are not involved in trucking your knowledge of all the details on the different models of Petes impresses me even more. Can't wait to see how you finish this one up. Do you polish out your paint jobs?
  9. Looks Dyn-no-mite :!: :!: Decals look like the real deal. What scale is this?
  10. Very, very nice work. You can see the craftsmanship every where you look!
  11. Hi Jerry - Did you make your own decals? If yes, what decal product and printer did you use? They look great!
  12. Chris, Very nice detail and a lot of work there. Holy cow! That's amazing that you made all those rivets one by one. Talk about having patience - amazing :!:
  13. Tim, as always truly amazing stuff that you create! Bigtruck - Not so sure about the last challenge for Tim as he still hasn't built one of those Pete "Rock Slingers" yet either.
  14. Looks darn good for "on-the-fly" engineering. Nice to see some real old iron being put together and love the progress shots - keep them coming. What are you going to use for fire hoses?
  15. Tim, once again, as always, excellent build. What materials did you use for the grill cover and snaps? When are you going to try one of those "Rock Slingers"?
  16. Thank you all for you're posts. Many provided real solid information that I find helpful and I'm very appreciative of your replies. I felt this to be a serious and legitimate question I have no idea why some thought it was humorus. :?: Again, thanks for the real info.
  17. Greetings everyone, I would like to know what everbody does for trailers. It seems that there are very few, if any, commercially available. They really seem to be very far a few between. Are the finished trailers that get posted kits that you folks have had for years or are they mostly scratch built or perhaps rebuilds? Or are most folks just building without trailers?
  18. I would like to hear from folks that have cast wheels and sent them, perhaps, to Chrome Tech for plating. What success' and problems have you encountered? I'm thinking about casting some Cragar S/S wheels.
  19. Looks like a huge challenge :!: I will be very interested in seeing the final product.
  20. Greetings Tim! I was just looking at your recent post of the Warren 359 Red oval and continue to be amazed at not only the quality of work you do, but how you do so many trucks. You truly have a passion for your "hobbie" :!: All of this got me to thinking about your house expansion and all the trucks completed. What's you best estimate of how many trucks you've built since you've been seriously building :?: Okay, I promise to sit down before I read your reply.
  21. Hi, I would like to know from you more experienced truck modelers who makes the higher quality kits Peterbilt & Kenworth). Perhaps, if you would, list the top 3 or 4 in order of best to worst? Or is the quality more dependant on the specific kit, which might be under discussion. TNX in advance.
  22. Hello again Lee and Tim - Once more, I appreciate you're time and effort in helping to get on the right track. Tim, since you say the 378 is getting harder to find and therefore higher priced would you please give me what you feel is a fair price range to pay for one of these kits? I can't truthfully say I'm excited about spending more for a better starting kit, but obviously I don't want to overcharged. TNX
  23. Hi Tim and Lee, Tim thanks for the wealth of information - it will take me a few days to digest it all. Probably have follow up questions too. Lee (andTim) - Would my life as a total newbie be simplier here if I started with the 378? I "assume" there wouldn't be as many differences to deal with? Does somebody make a 378 and the afeter market stuff too? Thank you - Ron I appreciate the input from you both!
