Some pictures of the tanker....I get building and forget to take pictures of the progress....so there is a big jump from the first pictures. At this point, it is 100% scratch built....I will be using the suspension from the Lindberg tanker and wheels from an Italeri donor -

Greg, It's good to be back after a long time off....life really gets in the way of quality model building...... The filler panels between body and cab are attached to the back of the cab, so you have a straight, vertical break between the two....and that is the reason for the access holes in the panels to reach the cab locks and releases. Gotta finish the milk tanker to get back on this and I have a tandem axle Aero-Chief quint about have way thru too -

olsbooks.....No, that is the visor from the kit.... Jim B......FBmodels is a Korean aftermarket.....bought the two pieces of Ebay...... Thanks for looking -
This will be the next one after the milk tanker is done..... Started with the new release of the Pepsi truck, and some left over pieces from a LaFrance pumper body (the compartments). The rest of the body is scratchbuilt to resemble a typical pumper built by Oren Fire Apparatus that used to be in business in Roanoke, Virginia. Also going to use the wheels from the LaFrance instead of the spokes from the Ford.

Been building, just not posting..... This started with the leftover frame rails from my 379 that I lengthened. I had two short sections....so daycab it is. Combined with resin pieces from FGmodel for the raised roof and extended rear daycab panel. Also wide front rims and tires from KFS. The rest is from the Italeri 377 kit with lots of detailing and scratch building. This is going to pull a scratch built "Walker" stainless milk tanker Thanks for looking.....comments welcome

Hersheys Cocoa cans are a combination of oval and square, kind of a fuel truck shape, working on a tanker made by joining two together. Its a win, win....I get the containers and my wife gets cocoa to make me cookies!!!!! I'll see if I can post pictures in the next couple of days -

Thanks for all the reviews..... The stacks came off EBAY....I don't remember the seller, but a great product, and the corrugated elbows are soda straws -
Finished back in the summer, just getting around to posting pictures.... This is my custom Peterbilt 379 for "Parker and Barrow's Trucking"..(Bonnie and Clyde's last names)... Started with an "Italeri" 378...stretched the frame using a donor Pete.....added a flat top sleeper roof, 379 hood, louvered grill, single headlights and fenders from P&P Vintage resin, Super single front wheels and tires from KFS.....scratchbuilt fuel tanks, "Texas" bumper, light bars under cab and sleeper, chassis decking and fender supports/ light bars and drop sun visor. Paint is a combination of Testors Model Masters Laquer Desert Tan and Valspar Buckeye Brown. Trailer is "Italeri" US trailer covered with BMF and Painted Buckeye Brown...added the refer unit from the "Mobieus" trailer....all lights are 3mm jewels from Michaels

Peterbilt 379-119 "Outlaw" style
ghoodii replied to ghoodii's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Project Update.....I have been working away, slowly, but progressing non the less. Where to start, paint is Model Masters Light Desert Tan and Valspar Buckeye Brown (really love the color, but I will never use Valspar again....took way too long to dry and is actually soft, if that makes sense. I've had three chips that I've had to touch up) A lot of BMF work, scratch built light bars under both cab and sleeper, amber lights are jewels from the craft section at JoAnn"s fabric store. All the lights on the back of the sleeper and on the fender supports were made from small eyelets from the fabric store and 4mm jewels from Michaels. Front bumper was scratchbuilt and used the same jewels as the light bars. Front tires and wheels are super singles from KFS covered in BMF and "doctored" with acorn nuts from Scale Hardware. Exhaust stacks are real aluminum bought off EBAY http://i1241.photobucket.com/albums/gg517/truck429/Peterbilt%20379-119/046A_zps1ccfc73b.jpg[/img ] @ Chad....sorry, I missed your questions....the hub caps are 7/16" half ball cover buttons made by "Dritz" from JoAnns fabric stores and I live in Culpeper, VA Thanks for looking -
Peterbilt 379-119 "Outlaw" style
ghoodii replied to ghoodii's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Thanks for the comments. The ends of the fuel tanks are nylon hole plugs. Go to Lowes....in the specialty hardware drawers, made by Hillman....many different sizes. -
Started this just before Christmas...going for the Outlaw custom show truck look. Started with an Italeri 377 and 378 kits. Stretched the frame by combining the two from each kit. Cab is the 378, sleeper is from the 377. Oversized fuel tanks were made from 1" PVC pipe and Evergreen strips. Then I threw in an assortment of resin from P&P Vintage Kits.....379 conversion hood, louvered grill, single headlights, flat top sleeper and rear fenders.
