  1. i love the center console. Great work and attention to detail
  2. your welcome. and thank you. When i return from my summer job with Tonny Petersen's Hell Drivers there will be many more pieces of thrill show history being built
  3. you are not imagining things, its got capri fenders
  4. Thank you everyone. and deathskull59 mr pibb is real. it is now known as pibb xtra, but it used to be called mr pibb. it is like dr pepper
  5. that has come a long way and turned out fantastic. Great job!
  6. it was a very fun build and it was pretty tough to get the damage right
  7. yes, a couple pics on a thread about the chitwood kit
  8. I built this as a close replica to a 1996 Grand-Am i derbied last summer. It was my first attempt with using wires to make things more realistic too.
  9. I have been a thrill show fan since i was little. I have recently been building some replica cars from the Chitwood show. I spent a long time in photoshop coming up with decals as close as possible to the real cars. The 74 camaro was an actual chitwood model that was pieced together from a couple models (it now has more accurate decals, see first photo). The mid 90s camaro, 80's camaros, and 97 corvette were promo cars that i painted and created decals for. the cannon jump truck was made by ertl. I am going on tour with Tonny Petersen's Hell Drivers show this summer and will have my builds put on hold. But when i return to the bench i will be building many other cars from thrill shows of the past. Also i will be building the entire chitwood line up from the mid 90's including a new cannon jump from styrene.
  10. haha First On Race Day. I had to do it, and no i'm not trying to start a ford vs chevy battle on this thread. Great Taurus. It wasn't abandoned long... i towed it away and used it for the demolition derby
  11. Thank you for all the comments everyone. I am going to Redo the pavement so its seem less and some more touch up stuff. I have been thinking about doing the inside as well but i'm in no rush for that yet. Charlie - I live in sandwich so its quite the drive but its something i might have to make it to one day to check out
  12. Any suggestions on buliding materials to use would be greatly appreciated. I am very new to the diorama aspect of model building.
  13. that came out great, I really like it
  14. Here are some pictures at my first attempt to build a garage. i used foam board for the base and building. The building is a garage that i had a large poster made of and then sprayed with matte clear coat. The doors and window were cut from the poster and also sprayed with matte clear. The asphat is 80 grit sandpaper that was painted with grey primer and flat black spray paint. The car in the picture is a Grand Am demolition derby car WIP. I have decided to start from scratch on this build and it will be much more detailed outside and in. This started as a background for my pictures and i have decided to make it a lil more than that
  15. haha ya, the 97 and the red 99 are 2 of my derby cars for this summer
  16. Currently i am working on a saleen crown victoria i am still puttying and sanding the body before i tackle any other part of it. Also i got a 1/25 die cast crown victoria to turn into a replica of my daily driver. The other pic here is the recent mock up of the suicide door i'm working on for my body dropped ranger. Also, i have customized some wheels that i got for it off ebay
  17. hahaha nothing wrong with getting a little carried away. I would love to build a large diorama but i just do not have the room for it. I saw some amazing dioramas when i went to the House On The Rocks in Wisconsin, unfortunately i do not have that kind of space
  18. thank you, I am not trying to build a large diorama of a fair but i was thinking of building a small base that has some carnival items to give it depth as well as a photo background. I am just having trouble finding suitable photos and 1/25 scale carnival items. Below is something i put together to give an idea of what i am trying to do.
  19. I am working on creating a state fair diorama to display some Chitwood cars I've built and to display some demolition derby cars as well. I have never built any sort of diorama before so any input would be greatly appreciated. I'm mainly looking to create something that has a dirt track and a background of either the grandstands or the midway. I'm looking to keep it simple with a base and a photo background but I am having a very hard time finding the right background.
  20. I've created 3 decades of Chitwood Camaros
  21. I got a hold of the 1974 Chitwood camaro kit but had to remake the decals with photo shop since the old waterslides were unusable. I recently re-did them again and made the logo blue and yellow like it is supposed to be. also i created decals for the 1980's timeframe and i am working on my newest creation... a 1995 camaro. now i will have 3 decades of different style Chitwood cars.
