  1. Actually it's the factory AMT cab with no stretch. It does look like it though in the photo. Thanks for all the compliments..Haven't done anything in a couple days, getting some ideas together. Just ordered my Chemical Leaman decals for the Acid trailer i plan on building, ordered an extra set for another one i want to build too. Plan on a late 70's Owner Operator theme. My dad use to pull for an Owner Operator for Coastal Chemical (Akron, Ohio), in 1978 with a 110" K-100 so, I think I'm going to build this one for Dad..He can put it in his garage, he's building a 32 Ford 5 window Coupe in his garage, so he can put it on the shelf by his toolbox.
  2. I appreciate that a lot! I think I'm finished putting the stripes down..I want to quit while I'm making myself believe I'm ahead.
  3. Tried some freehand stripes today, went with gold and black. Still plenty more to do!
  4. Thanks guys! I'm may scratch build an Acid (corrosive) trailer maybe an old style Chemical Lehman or Matlack owner operator? Hang some pump hoses on the back of the cab and a Roper pump on the side of the chassis? We'll see, haven't quite decided
  5. Yellow? sounds different for sure....Not sure yet! a color like that is cool to break it up!..I'm thinking maybe even a Bronze? Thanks for the nice words..
  6. Thanks Jim, just wanted a different look, but keep the 70's theme on the paint. I was saving that color for another truck, but i thought it would look cool. Both are GM colors, Autumn Maple Clear and Pewter Clear..Love that Autozone touch up stuff!
  7. Went to my local hobby shop this week and picked up his last Round 2 Freightliner. Think i'm going to stretch this one and add straight pipes? Not quite done with the cab, thinking on black pinstripes?
  8. Here's my Wilson cattle pot too. This one came out ok, I like the look of the old style trucks..
  9. Don't laugh! but I trimmed the suspension just aft of center of the eqaulizer mount. I plan to make a new spring mount to make the forward area of the rear axle look normal. I was able to "split" the one peice molded suspension to create a scale 8' spread. Once done, I plan to install tool boxes between the spread to dress it up. It"s not the prettiest, but it did the job. Nobody will notice at 70mph..haha. I may add flaps behind the fwd axle, with KW decals.
  10. Thanks for the nice words! I see what you guys build and i'm not anywhere on that level..I use to build this stuff in the 70's like a lot of you guys and I just started getting back into it. Been around trucks my whole life with my Dad and now still enjoy them. Now my little boy is starting to love them too, along with Military tanks so i guess those are next. My next project is a H-67 Tandem Mack cabover with color matched spread axle covered wagon.. It's going to be a Maple red and pewter combination, with matching side boards on the flatbed...Try to keep you guys posted when I start it.
  11. Finishing up my spread axle flatbed. I have several more details to do on the whole unit. It's nothing fancy, just having a little fun messing with this trailer. Eventually it will be a covered wagon, the color is a Rustoleum touch up from autozone, Nissan Orange Mist CC. I have to add tool boxes between the spread.
  12. Truck looks real cool! I drove a powerliner once a long time ago. The grille looks dead on!
  13. Thanks! just finished a little bit ago the Round 2 K-123 also.
  14. I'm new to the site, just started getting into building again after a very long time. I just finished the Round 2 Freightliner and an older AMT Wilson livestock trailer.I consider myself very amature, I just build to relax after work.
