Ok lets take this subject and go through it.
1: U.S. Model Cars, compared to Japanese Model Car Prices, Revell 1/25 model cars, average Price $25, Japanese 1/25 Model cars average price $50! You should get alot more in the Japanese kits!
2: Gas prices! Depending on where you live Federal, State, and Local Taxes are 64% to 71% of the price you pay for gas!
3: The liscense agreements are more to give the companies some control over the accuraacy of the products their name is being put on!

Chip, has had several awar winners in the last few years! Chips show Overhaulng is one of the most popular Automotive shows on TV. It is on every Tuesday night on Velosity TV!
-
Congrats, Nice Chevy!
-
Early Olds and Buick engines are cool in AV8s!

I'm pretty sure that's the same rendering he used on the show. I think he's got a whole line of models and toys coming out and with the way he is so particular and the way he designs things you would think revell would mold it exactly the way it should look and not just use the current firebird. That would be pretty lame.
I wonder how the Interior is going to look if it will be all custom or just stock with a few things here and there.
Chip will only put his name on it if revell makes it exactly the way he designed it, and drew it!
Yes I have gotten his Autograph on several items over the years, But my Daughter has gotten atleast three times as many! I just like to talk to him about Hot Rods!
I first met Chip when he was designing all of Boyd's cars for him. I have known Sam Foose for a very long time!

There is nothing in Model Car Building that you can't learn to do, if you really want to, but there is also nothing you have to do except BUILD WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY!
-
I use cupouns all every time I go To Hobby Lobby, or Michaels, at Michaels I can use AC Moore's 50% off cupouns. I don't Buy from AC Moore, they price model kits $4-$5 above Retail!

That is going to be one very cool radical custom! I would leave the trim off, it will look great with the smooth sides, but that is just my opinion, and it is your build,so you should build it the way you like it!

Recharge and re-inspire by taking the time off to feed your head. Read, watch documentaries, go places, travel, take photographs . . .go to car shows. All these things will help.
You should always feed your brain, and a good book is a great way! I'm always researching Ancient/Medievll History and Military History.

Seeing the great builds other people on this Forum are doing, ussualy is enough to motivate me to get started again!

Does anyone have any sugestions for improving my, PRACTICAL ONES TO MAKE THE HOBBY ROOM WORK BETTER FOR BUILDING MODELS!!
-
Hal You Build real Hot Rods? I grew up building AV8s and Dueces at Curtis Speed and Hot Rod shop, we would often use a rear cross member/spring perch from an old A model frame that wasn't worth using for any thing else on our Deuce frames. Then Clyde started manufacturing His own Frames and Crossmembers to sell to other people.

The paint turned out looking great!

Norm Weber at Replicas and Minitures co. of Maryland makes a great 32 ford chass that you can fit an A Model suspension to with a transveres rear spring. First thing you should do when building it is to fit the floor board, as the chassis is easy to warp if you don't
I have used 6 of these chassis, and the quality and accurace are both the best there is!

Hal Welcome to the FORUM!
I thought you might have some figure painting back ground, I have painted all types of Military Figures and vehicles over the last 55years! My Grand Father taught me to paint figures when I was about 7 or 8 years old!
