55/57 Cameo build W.I.P.
hotrod66c10 replied to Revstew's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Love the frame really cool with what you can do with technology.hope my truck turns out half as cool. -
It's been a while since my last post due to my mechanical hell of a week ,lost the trans in my hot rod truck and then brakes on my maverick but all is well and my drivers are back to normal. now it's back to my tiny hot rods. I got some tamiya putty and grafted a trans tunnel in from a 64 chevy truck, I just hope it turns out well this is my first time using the tamiya putty. I found some eyelets that looks like little velocity stacks for my Webber carburetor.

Went to the show down yesterday day in farmers branch and bought a modelhaus 59 cab and bed. The idea is to build a rusted farm truck on bags to pay homage to my up bringing of hotroding farm trucks. I so far have the frame worked out I stole from my bagged 88 Silverado project that stalled out. Going to dare to be different use a 235 with vintage style speed equipment may even supercharge it. Because it's a farm truck theme I have mud grips on the rear with white wall inlays, plan on using farm name on the door and Jr west coast mirrors.

Thanks everyone! These trucks hold a special place in my heart. here are 2 of my real trucks that I have been working on 1 is a long step the other a short fleet. consequently don't finish as many models as I would like.it took me almost a year to build my little gmc. -
Well this is my first post I have Ben lurking around this site for a while.just finished my 60 gmc it was a short fleet chevy truck. I scratch built the bed sides used the finders, 2 sets of steps grafted together from revells 65 chevy truck, tail gate is from amt 70s gmc. Frame was stretched using 2 amt frames. The gmc 305 v6 was scratch built using 409 valve covers, a international engine block, timeng cover is a Oldsmobile, intake is from a NASCAR kit shortened to v6,used kits distributor and car,air cleaner,3speed Saginaw transmission. Hood filler and grill where given to me from a friend I pulled a mold so I could make more later also used the v6 emblem from a diecast to cast a mold to make resin copies. Dash was modified to the gmc version. Thanks for looking and reading.
