    1/25 '67 Camaro™ SS™ 2 'n 1 Plastic Model Kit

    Product ID: 85-4936

    Overview

    Skill level: 3

    Scale: 1/25

    Length: 7- 5/16"

    Width: 2-15/16"

    Height: 1-3/4"

    Parts: 130

    Description

    Superior speed

The SS badge on the 1967 didn't actually stand for 'superior speed' but with this Camaro's Big Block 396 c.i. engine, it could have! This massive engine delivered between 350 and 375 horsepower depending on specific model. The endless option available for the '67 Camaro appealed to buyers with nearly 35,000 SS models rolling off assembly lines and onto American roads. Kit features a detailed 396 c.i. engine with optional dual exhaust, stock and racing wheels, racing interior, roll bar and separate back seat.

The Camaro® was introduced in September of 1966. The Camaro SS 396 was a special package, distinguished by its nose stripe and SS emblems. The 396 cubic inch engine was rated at 325 HP and had 410 lbs. of torque. The Camaro has gone head-to-head against the competition on the street and on the race track. It has won championships both in road racing and at the drag strip.
    • Detailed 396 engine with optional dual exhaust
    • 2 sets of wheels: stock and racing
    • Racing interior roll bar and separate back seat

  3. I have some set from special apperance decals. I do not think they are still around. I am hoping Chuck will have a new set ready by the time I get this to the decal stage. hint hint :)

Slixx is working on a couple different sets of Grotheer sheets as I write this. I sent them lots of photos for reference.

  4. Two different scoops in those photos..the one in the B&W photos looks like a '69 B-body six pack scoop, and the one in the color pic is taller w/ a larger opening. Also, the car in the B&W photo has body color bumpers, the car in the color photo has chrome bumpers..one can only assume they had several cars during the season?

The scoop evolved over the 1970 season, as it was pro stock. As for the chrome bumper, it was used on the GT-1 car that raced in AHRA.

  5. Here's the Hemi car you're referring to. My guess is Ekstrand got a Sedan later in the year (hence this photo at Indy). You are correct, this car would have the single headlight grille, Hemi scoop, etc. The Hardtop would have been at Pomona in '64. Remember, the 426 Hemi became available in '64 with King Richard at Daytona (also a hardtop).

  6. Well here's Al and his '64 Hardtop. This was an original promotional photo from 1964. He also had a Sedan. Look on the web, it's not hard to find. If you still doubt that the real car ever existed, don't buy the model kit!

Personally I'm ecstatic to have the kit back on the shelves again!

  7. Hi Paul and Jesse! Nice to see you here!

I was introduced to Jerry from Baltimore (I can't remember his last name - getting old sucks) around 2000 by Joe McHugh. He was printing the Flash Gordon decals - all drawn by him, printed with metallic ink on an Alps, both scales. He did some custom work too. I tried to get the Flash Gordon decals to sell, but it was difficult to say the least. Jerry had lots of health issues every time I talked to him.

Like you Paul, I have hundreds of decals in three ring binders (Slixx, Jerry's stuff, Bad Habit decals, etc.) Like I always say, buy it when you see it as you may never see it again!
