This is a build ,but someone will be casting this body as an awb and it's not me. You can get one from Wendell at A/FXN http://www.afxnscaleresin.150m.com/ and then get a Rat Pack awb Nova kit and make your own fastback awb Nova ,but when I hear that their casted(awb nova) and ready I'll post to let you and anyone else that's looking for one.

updates on 63' Nova fastback AWB
Tired of kit bashing replied to Tired of kit bashing's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Len ,someone will be casting it soon and some other stuff too. When I hear their ready(casted) I'll post something asap. If you looking to get one Wendell of A/FXN scale resin http://www.afxnscaleresin.150m.com/ has it for sale ,but it's not like this .I made this one into an awb myself using a fastback body from A/FXN and a Rat Pack awb.I just removed the 1/4 panels from the awb and put them on the fastback ,but the person that's casting them up those will be awb and when I get word you'll hear about it. Charlie ,I couldn't tell you where the roof came from because I didn't do the master ,but to me it looks like a roof of a 66' Charger with that fastback look if it's a 66' I could be wrong of the year. I do know Charger did make a fastback body back in the late 60's. Rob -

Well everyone thank's for the information here and all went fine. I just wish I could finish the metallic paint ,but it's started raining outside. Don't get me wrong there's other stuff to do on this project ,but would of like to have finish the painting part. Hey Bob ,does that dehydrator really work ? -

Hey Mark aka:Astroracer I tried your painting tip today in 20's cold and let me say ,all went well. Thank's for the painting tip ,but one question will the same painting tip work with metallic paint too ? I still have time for the metallic paint just got the first coat of base down. I've attached a photo of my build. It's a 63' Nova fastback that I maded into an awb and the donor kit is a Rat Pack awb Nova. Rob -

Been checking out the other messages and saw this and had to stop in and say , Hi !! This is one cool form here and plenty of information too. Great to see and hear from people that really do build models. This form is nicer then other forms out there. Before I go let me say , thank's again for the help Jairus the other day when I couldn't get back on the form. It's all working fine on my side and I hope my profile is up to par with the MCM rules. If not let me know either way so I can fix it , thank's....... Rob -

I just got done reading the first message that Jairus posted and then went back and fixed my profile. This is great form and there lots of information here and on top of it all there's nothing but model building going on here. I don't want to get booted it's nicer here then other places. So thank's MCM and all the peolpe that make it happen for us hobbyist . Rob Milani more to come........................... -
She's done !! Now to pick a color and finish building her. Rob P.s. think it should be casted ?

Some nice builds going on there !! This what I'm working on I took a Nova rat pack kit and cut off the rear 1/4 panels then I bought a '63 Nova fastback from A/FXN scale resin and also cut off those rear 1/4's too.The cutting part is all done now I'm just doing body work.At this moment I'm just waiting for the primer to dry.I still have some finishing touches to do to the body work and then it's ready for paint. What color ? I really don't have a clue on what color (LOL!!). Rob

Well waiting for the primer to dry at this time. There's still some more body work to do (finishing touches) and then it's ready for paint. What color ? , I don't know at this time. Rob

I bought this body with the idea of building a Gasser , but instead my brain decided that this body needed a change and then I had this vison and sorry to say the vison won. So first to get cut was the Nova awb rat pack kit. I cut right above the wheel well molding and used that with the body panel line as a cutting guide.Once I was done with cutting out both rear 1/4 panels I then turned to the ' 63 Nova fast back ( product of A/FXN Scale Resin ) and took my time and checked twice before cutting , but I first mocked up the chassis with the inter tin , rear end and front end all in place with tires and rims.I next put the body on and lined up the front wheels and the inter tin. I took the 1/4 panels that I cut from the first Nova ( awb ) and line them up with the ' 63 Nova fast back body ( held in place with tape ) and also line the back of the 1/4's with the rear panel ( rear of car , bumper ) it will all fall into place. Now it's fun time , mark and cut the 1/14's off the ' 63 Nova fast back and don't look back it will all soon be over. Now that the nightmare of cutting is over a new one starts. It's time to put it all back together , but before that the 1/4's are two different widths so this is what I done. I used evergreen styrene strips .030 x .100" item # 135 as a spacer ( one strip is good , but I guess it will depend on the width of your saw blade ) once you have both sides done with the styrene strip in place it's next to glue in your 1/4 panels. Try to line up the two surfaces really good that would help to eliminate some body work , but don't get me wrong you will have some body work to do.Best thing is when your finished with the body you can use the rest of the Nova awb rat pack kit for a donor.I've attach photo's in the order of the steps that it took me to make a ' 63 Nova fast back awb . So much plastic and not enough time ............................ Rob

How should I go about decal making ? Tired of looking for someone to make decals, sad thing is I knew 2 great decal makers and they made me one off custom decals.I think they fell off the planet.I might as well give it a try(decal making),I'm casting my own resin parts now.I was tired of waiting for resin parts in the mail and also kit bashing,so now I make molds and cast any parts that I need. So can anyone help me in this new mission of mine ? Well thanks for any info that is given...................

What steps are need and should be known in reproduceing rims. I'm tired of kit basking for just rims, engines or just about any parts and then having a kit in a box that has no use to me. So can someone help with hints, tips and steps that I should know in casting rims. Thanks !
