  1. Does anyone have any scale drawings for a 1/25 hauler used for top fuel dragsters. I know there was a thread started about trailers in this forum and had a link to a resin one on ebay. Unfortunately it doesnt fit the part. Figured it would be more worth my time to scratch one. I only need the profile as im using this as a diorama backdrop for the car as you would see in the pits. Id look to build it half the width since im not planning to detail out the inside. Can anyon help?

  2. does anyone have any good photos of the aa dragster that MPC put out some time back for reference material. Also, Ive seen many scratch make their oown frames for dragsters, pro mods, etc. Can someone tell me as how you guys are going about a good fit between joints Are you creating a coping on the end or are u just letting the liqid cement melt the edge?

  3. does anyone know where i can find various items such as race gas jugs or impact guns and etc that i can use in a "pit" dio for my top fuel. Ive already scratched the pro jacks just need some fill pieces.

  4. thanks for all the positive feedback. 2 months in the making. I cant wait to add the decals, just have to be patient since there is such a backlog of orders from slixx. once this is done ill be starting a multi build of 2 more rails. Cory mac's air hogs 2005 dragster and Melanie Troxel's POW MIA 2007 dragster. Im also trying to acquire all i need for j Morgan's lucas pro stock so i should be busy for awhile. So far i have gibsons pro stock engine kit and slixx decals. will have to get the stratus CR body and base kit.

  5. from this side u can see the scratch made mags since the kit ones were too small. blower belts were made from painted tissue paper and soaked in a water/ white glue dilute to affix the ends. ignition boxes were scratch made and wired to the coils. throttle cable attached and linkage done as well. still need to finish the headers on this side

  6. hoping someone can help. can anyone tell me how they go about wraping a blower hat in carbon fiber. does it require several pieces or just one. I have plenty of setting solutions to conform the decal but unsure if 1 piece is the way to go. Any help would be much appreciated.

  7. i went thru all of the old post and found some great pics that could possibly help as far as reference. but still need some clarification. I also wanted to know what guys use for the parachute cable both the cord and the release cable.

  8. here is exactly what i ordered:

    DET1301 2ft. Braided Line #1 (.020") Detail Master , DET1311 Fitting Line #1 .020" (5pc) Detail Master , DET2025 Blower Scoop Hardware Kit 1/24-1/25 Detail Master.

I also bought some stainless nylon coated bead wire .019, and .014 black line for possible brake lines or etc.

I guess id have to say id build to what looks good. Every single thing doesnt have to be right. I just dont want to use things like beads for an fittings as they may look good for some but dont depict in a scale way if that makes any sense. The fact that there is stuff that is out that is more realistic is awsome. I remember back in the day i was using thin wire from old mini components to make fuel and plug wires. Trust me though, im all about making components or finding supply that is a cheaper alternative. this stuff tends to add up.

  9. im looking for any help in a build that i will be starting real soon. I am starting Jerry Toliver's spy vs spy funny car from back in 98. First off i cannot find any good pics of the car and more importantly pics of the engine for detail. I know that there has been a number of things that have changed between then and now including the use of blower blankets, scoop design, and etc so if anyone had any detailed photos from any engine in that time frame that would help alot. I would love to detail this engine out. Secondly i have been trying to acquire the proper fittings and wire to do such detail. Unfortunately, I am unsure what would be correct for 1/24. to date I have detail masters blower detail kit, some .20 solid line, and .20 braided wire for fuel lines. I also got some carbon fiber decal sheet. I went with my gut and felt any larger might look out of scale. What im stuck with now is:

would hobby designs 1mm fittings be accurrrate in size or too small?

did most funny cars run double distributers or magnitos?

During that time were the blower caps carbon fiberor alumunium ?

if they used blower blankets what material can u use to look scale?

guys in this forum really know their stuff here and would appreciate an help. It has been over 10 years since ive done any car builds. I have always had interest in pro stocks or pro mods but couldnt resist when i saw this kit.
