Ahh. That sounds decent then! I would rather scratchbuild the trailer too lol.
-
Sounds like a very fun scratchbuilding project! For the canvas tent material, you could use canvas tent material from an old tent.
Great Question.
You could use the trailer from the Revell dirt cars (V8 60 and Kurtis midget)as a good starting point.
I'm not sure what a midget racer trailer has to do with a camper...

Thanks; HP. I guess I need to do both. I will start with AMT.
Skip the AMT. It's only a promo style kit with some crummy vinyl interior. The Revell kit is full detail.

First and foremost, I want to say that my statement was an educated guess and not an absolute. But if by that point they had already spent all of the time and money to get "most of the work done," don't you think they would have released it despite Lindberg's own offering? Just like Revell, AMT, and Lindberg did when they all released versions of the then-new F-150 in the late 90's?
They mad most of the work done with the 80s Cutlass and never released it. But it's Revell. Who knows wtf the deal is.
-
The Lindberg CV kit first came out sometime around 1998. No way Revell had "most of the work done" back then.
Why not?
Yes! The last gen bodied Crown Vics would be so much more desirable! But again, these are toys aimed at kids. Revell didn't have the model builder community in mind with it. If there is anything at all worthy in the kit, I'll get one. But it is entirely unlikely.

I saw this list elsewhere, I make no claims for its accuracy.
Some of these were on the 4th quarter schedule. The Raptor was supposed to be 3rd.
-
Frank, you don't get it because you are a youngster!
Truth. lol Being only 30, I have still seen a good deal of kits being overly reissued. And it's always cool to see some NEW old kit to me. Just not the same old same old same old:/
-
Because of many reasons :
1) Many buyers have never seen the original kits
2) Many who have, want another shot at one, maybe they built one as a kid,
3) The kits in question are the only game in town
4) you've got an old original kit and want another.
Again. Some of these kits have been in continuous production. AND still readily available.
I'm all for a reissue of something that hasn't been out in maybe over 30 or 25 years. But wtf with kits only a few years ago??
-
I guess nobody has figured out the source for this hoard? Since it is kits from multiple manufacturers, it has to be someone large at the distribution level... maybe Hobbico?
Are these all kits Hobby Lobby would stock?
-
I am curious how much better the glue kits look compared to the snap kit once completed and in the case . My daughter and I did one of the snap kits last year and are more than happy with it
It looks the same. As it's the same kit. Just more details underneath the body and such.
-
except that most of that Hawk and to a lesser degree Lindberg stuff is basically, well, junk.
jb
But they're making the packaging all nice and shiny and new! :/
Right.
All of that work, and they will still never be worth as much as they are trying to charge for them. Some of these kits have been in continuous production. Why even bother?

I'm so happy we could get these out there! And even happier they are selling:)
Can't wait to see your build!
-
Love where this is going!!
-
Looks good so far!
-
With the glue kit and Deluxe versions available I'd be curious as to the differences.
Are there any?
New batman and robin figures. New box art.
-
That Vicky was reissued a few years ago by some dirt track kit company. Not directly AMT tho, and not all of the original parts.
-
How does it compare to the old Mitsuwa kit?
It's a brand new kit. Much more detailed than the Mitsuwa or Fujimi ones. And not tooled by Revell usa. Should be a very nice kit:) And yea, hopefully the Revell usa release has usa spec decals.
-
I have to say I am a little disturbed on how people can start having at test samples rather than pose questions to Dave, who diligently scans this board. The wheel design is legitimate, perhaps the C-pillar sway.
The way I feel right now, no more test shots or box art photos I have are getting posted here.
If something is wrong, it's wrong. Not pointing out any errors will just keep the errors into production, then everyone will just have hissyfit when the model is for sale. You get offended because the angle of the one picture you posted makes the car look off. If you have more pics, I'm sure it would help the kit's case on being accurate. What is your deal man?
-
My one didn't have the Revell midgets. I would have gotten that. I'll check the other store tomorrow.
-
Because it couldn't possibly be a bug in the kit itself? Someone would have noticed and mentioned by now, yes?
Has anyone had a similar experience?
I'm not sure of this was intended as a joke or not....but yes. The kit is the issue. Not your fault. Welcome to Revell:/

This looks cool. But the Titan is an all American truck.
-
The reason why it is being asked, is there are some people that are interested in buying the magazine and the forum .
-
Everything can be bought lol:) Is there any public outlet where this info can be found?
-
How much is this forum and the whole magazine worth? If someone was interested in buying it.
