  1. I found a diecast 2014 Chevy Silverado that was nearly identical to my 1:1, so naturally, I had to doll it up to look like mine. Painted the bed liner & wheels, made a few decals, plates, inspection sticker and stuff like that, and it is now my desk nameplate paperclip bin. And yes, I took the 1:1 to a sign shop for the windshield header that reads "Red Menace". It is red, and I am a menace.

  2. Using the Motor City Resins kit as a basis for this build was a fairly easy conversion. The hood, bumpers, chassis and a few interior parts were sourced from the AMT '69 H/O kit, and the Revell '72 H/O kit provided some parts as well. The styrene scrapyard provided a couple of things. A pretty straightforward build.

  3. Very nicely done, I have one that I need to rebuild some year. Where did you get the cowl stripes for it??

I made them using Windows Word and some decal paper. Took a few tries to get the size to look right, so you do your practice runs on plain paper.

  4. Nothing too crazy, I used the hood and bumpers/grille from The Modelhaus to turn the AMT '69 442 into a '68. Photoetched scripts and license plate frames. I made the plates, inspection and other stickers, and the '68 Oldsmobile sales brochure and an issue of Collectible Automobile that featured a '68 Cutlass on the cover. Most other stuff was either out of the box or my styrene scrapyard.

  5. Here's a largely box-stock build of the AMT 1969 Hurst/Olds. I did machine new exhaust tips out of sprue, but otherwise kept it pretty simple. I'm currently working on a companion convertible starting with the Motor City Resins bodyshell. I was pretty pleased with the results here.P1030045.thumb.JPG.09d6b4d15701c873bae6dP1030046.thumb.JPG.a41333a111436602725a8P1030047.thumb.JPG.87c0baaca092122232d2bP1030048.thumb.JPG.5720baccbf99e9ff47f2d

  6. Shot propane tanks with a hunting rifle. Crashed cars into utility poles, on purpose. Picked fights, with cops. Homemade explosive devices. I have about 170+ years worth of stupid packed into my life experience. I'm not done yet.

  7. The laws of physics apply to EVERYONE. And they are, shall we say, "self-enforcing". No matter what your theory about how drunks ALWAYS survive a crash because "they're more relaxed" or whatever (not true), it's probably best not to get good 'n' lickered up before you get behind the wheel.
