  1. You really nailed the look. I like that color, the poverty caps, and the slant six.
  2. I don't think that I've seen a 1:1 Chevy LUV since 1988. Very cool.
  3. I found a diecast 2014 Chevy Silverado that was nearly identical to my 1:1, so naturally, I had to doll it up to look like mine. Painted the bed liner & wheels, made a few decals, plates, inspection sticker and stuff like that, and it is now my desk nameplate paperclip bin. And yes, I took the 1:1 to a sign shop for the windshield header that reads "Red Menace". It is red, and I am a menace.
  4. I like the look of that Mustang. Very cool.
  5. Wow! Certainly not something you see every day.
  6. Thank you to all. Getting back to the rich aroma of paint and plastic model cement is helping me to put my life back together. It's therapeutic.
  7. Excellent color choices for the exterior and vinyl top give it such a nice, factory-fresh look.
  8. Well, if the Duke boys drove a Poncho...it might look that cool.
  9. Using the Motor City Resins kit as a basis for this build was a fairly easy conversion. The hood, bumpers, chassis and a few interior parts were sourced from the AMT '69 H/O kit, and the Revell '72 H/O kit provided some parts as well. The styrene scrapyard provided a couple of things. A pretty straightforward build.
  10. That kit is probably THE best Oldsmobile kit ever released, and your build really looks great!
  11. I made them using Windows Word and some decal paper. Took a few tries to get the size to look right, so you do your practice runs on plain paper.
  12. How cool would that be in 1:1? Very nice!
  13. My mother-in-law had a "Matadork" in that exact color. I hope to do as nice a job as you did at replicating hers when I get to that kit.
  14. That is PRECISELY how I would have ordered my 1:1 version. You know, if I had a time machine.
  15. What's not to like? Very clean, great color choice.
  16. Nothing too crazy, I used the hood and bumpers/grille from The Modelhaus to turn the AMT '69 442 into a '68. Photoetched scripts and license plate frames. I made the plates, inspection and other stickers, and the '68 Oldsmobile sales brochure and an issue of Collectible Automobile that featured a '68 Cutlass on the cover. Most other stuff was either out of the box or my styrene scrapyard.
  17. Here's a largely box-stock build of the AMT 1969 Hurst/Olds. I did machine new exhaust tips out of sprue, but otherwise kept it pretty simple. I'm currently working on a companion convertible starting with the Motor City Resins bodyshell. I was pretty pleased with the results here.
  18. Sweet 'n' clean. I would have ordered mine just like it in October '69, if I had a time machine.
  19. I like your Riv a lot, because you kept it subtle and classy. The first-gen Rivvie had such clean styling, hard to improve on. Customizing one can be hard, because some guys don't know when to "lift the brush", so to speak.
  20. Shot propane tanks with a hunting rifle. Crashed cars into utility poles, on purpose. Picked fights, with cops. Homemade explosive devices. I have about 170+ years worth of stupid packed into my life experience. I'm not done yet.
  21. The laws of physics apply to EVERYONE. And they are, shall we say, "self-enforcing". No matter what your theory about how drunks ALWAYS survive a crash because "they're more relaxed" or whatever (not true), it's probably best not to get good 'n' lickered up before you get behind the wheel.
  22. Who knew that the glue-sniffers who frequent this site had dating advice? I think that you guys are on to something.
