    70 Camaros

They both look real good, though.
  2. Very nice, the paint and wheels are certainly period-correct for the era. The Caddy taillights were exactly the kind of thing customizers (over)did back then, sort of like how cartoonish rear spoilers are overdone now.
  3. That sounded right. Looks very nice.
  4. I'm not of "the hobby is dying" mindset. Recent kit releases are fantastic, and aftermarket stuff like photoetched detail sets and resin items are works of art. Whether you build cars, ships, armor, aircraft, or are a model railroader, the market has probably never offered such a wide variety of really well-done subjects and accessories. The availability of tools and related items is better than ever. And the prospect of 3D printing will likely open up a world of innovation. Am I an "evangelical" modeler? No, but two of my nieces and especially one of my nephews have shown an interest, so we've built kits together. And had a good time, which I thought was the point of the whole exercise.

A Chevy Citation is certainly something you don't see very often in scale. Even its 1:1 counterpart had the designed lifespan of a fruit fly. Did anyone in Sweden ever buy one of those dogs? Yours looks really nice, a good, clean build.
  6. Be prepared for a torrent of replies on this one. As for me, a '73 Pontiac Grand Am or GTO and a '68 Oldsmobile 442 or Hurst/Olds are on my wish list.
  7. Love that Toronado! Certainly something you don't see very often. Man, I want to get me one of them.
  8. I'll admit that I was a little sad to see a beating applied to that truck, but the results were worth it. I like it.
  9. Lookin' for more on your H/O. It's inspiring me on the ragtop I've got in the works.
  10. You Aussies have some cool, locally-produced rides. I also like the utes a lot, and wish we could get them in the USA.
  11. I just went to http://vcgresin.atspace.com/ and their website came up with no problem. Looks like they have some interesting stuff. I've never done business with them, so I couldn't tell you if their products or customer service is any good.
  12. Who doesn't like The Three Stooges? Or sedan deliveries? Looks good!
  13. Real grass would look very much out of scale. Model railroaders and many diorama builders use a grass material that is applied using static electricity, and the results are VERY realistic.
  14. That glow-in-the-dark paint is gonna be hell to repair if you get a scratch or dent, isn't it?
  15. My brother-in-law is an attorney in Florida (insert in-law or lawyer joke here), and while I know that the bar exam can be a tough one, I'm sure that if your daughter put in the study time, she'll pass. As a parent, I'm sure you are quite pleased that your girl has put an honest effort into really making something out of herself. That, my friend, is a parental success story.
  16. I'm with this guy. In the late '70s and early '80s there were a lot of clapped-out cars running around looking like this.
  17. Al, that Lincoln is really something else! The hood ornament and detailing (in 1:43 scale, no less!) is quite amazing.
  18. Harry, battery packs and their ability to retain a charge degrade over time, and currently are hideously expensive to replace. Existing battery technology has not changed a whole lot in 100 years, though some promising (albeit costly) alternatives are in the works. A long-term test of the Tesla is what I personally would wait for before purchasing any all-electric car. While the Tesla is well-engineered and a good performer, its high price, short range, and lack of any real-world utility (for what I need a vehicle for, anyway) likely won't put one in my driveway anytime soon. When a half-ton pickup truck with a 350 mile range that can charge in ten minutes exists, I might buy one. I've got no axe to grind with Consumer Reports or all-electric cars.
  19. I've read many articles penned by Patrick Foster in Collectible Automobile, so I'm sure this book will be a good read.
  20. You really made a "Matadork" look good, SFD. I like it. One of these days, I'm gonna build mine to replicate my mother-in-law's '75.
  21. But didn't the films open with "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..."? Surely, that means that the "Star Wars" films were based on actual events.
  22. I've heard it said that forty is the "new" thirty, and thirty is the "new" twenty. That means that it's OK for you to start dating twenty-year-olds. I pitched that idea to my wife, but she didn't seem too enthusiastic about it for some reason.
