found a video---don't know how to load it but if you google 1971 Supernationals, and load the part 2 with Dick Landy, go to 3:20 seconds and then to 5:30 seconds you will get to see the car at the first race with the full nose, polished blower, valve covers and chrome headers---However, it was actually 1970!!!!- 369 replies

the colored headers you have seen in some of the pics was sperex paint and was before the full nose bodywork---with the full nose, we did chrome headers, polished blower etc---Pat Foster(I think it was him or maybe Donovan) said that we had run out of things to chrome so John had to send out Tammy's teeth to get chromed( John's girl friends teen ager daugher) Most of the shiny engine parts were polished magnesium and most people thought they were chromed aluminum, but aluminum was so much heavier we didn't use much of it(well the blower was) Just noticed I 'm just at the 11 post mark and nobody has called me a newbi, nube????- 369 replies

We ran the chromed headers after we did the full nose body work and it never had any blueing on the pipes---I have spent a couple of hours looking at pics and haven't found any where there was any signs of blueing---- 369 replies

Kevin---I would love to see/receive any pics anyone has of our cars--back then the photogs would come around on Sundays of a two day race with some 8/10 but lots of time they would be sold before they got to us--also, it took cash to get them----- My email is GMClaytonRacing@msm.com Jerry- 369 replies

Well, I thought these two went pretty easy so I scanned 18 other pic s that showed some pretty decent details--then somehow lost all of them--if I run across them later I'll post them, otherwise in a day or two-- News item--its official--California Charger is on the way to Don Long's shop for restoration work--- 369 replies

Bill I'll try to get you some pics uploaded--it may take a day or two--also Chuck Johnson , over on Drag Racers Inc has several that he just posted 2 or 3 weeks ago of the car with out any body panels mounted-- On this site Old Coyote also has several and he has shared them with many-- The work you are doing is excellent and I want to say right up front that anything I say about it is to assist your project, not in any way take any thing away from your dedicated efforts---- The notch in the cowl piece just behind the motor plate wasn't on our car---that was from Tony Nancy's car---Revell did some duplicates between these two cars ---they asked us if that would be OK as they couldn't justify building two cars (dragsters) that was so similar in some respects---- The Snowman and Revolution(Whipple & McCullough), and the 2 dragsters were as I understood it the launch of a new scale 1/16, to show detail better and they were very nervous about the acceptance of a new scale from the model builders--- More later, need breakfast-- Jerry- 369 replies
