  1. I showed a picture of this one a while back but here's a few more... Revell's 06 Mustang. Did a little work on this one, not exactly box stock. The wheels are Pegasus 20s with some 18" tires stretched over them. They have a little more sidewall than the 20" tires and more detail. 285s in the rear and 245s on the front. It took a little cutting and filing to get them to fit. Had to smooth out the inside of the front fenderwells. Not a lot really, nothing that looks unrealistic. Cut off the spindles and raised them. At the rear I cut out the back of the wheelwells, set them back as far as I could and still use the stock interior and filled the gap with Evergreen sheet. Still had to do some sanding on the back of the interior panels for fit. I shortened the springs and shocks, narrowed the differential, lowered the control arms a bit and adjusted the panhard bar and sway bar. The car is lowered about 3 scale inches overall. Disc brakes are from Pegasus. The paint is PlastiKote Ford Performance white and Testors Go Mango lacquer. Grabber Orange just wasn't quite right. The stripes and tail panel are PlastiKote black with some silver added and were layed out by hand with tape. The front and rear spoilers were scratched from Evergreen. The paint scheme came from a car built by Air Ride Technologies that they called the Woodward GT. Couldn't find a set of wheels similar to what they used though.
  2. Just posting some pics of recently finished projects. Finished this one early this year but just got around to taking pics of it last week. My daughter and I worked together on this one too but I did most of it. Box stock. Don't remember the brand but the body on this one is painted with nail polish, kit decals and nail polish clear overall. The interior is Testors little bottle Cream I think and is flocked with a complimentary color. Didn't take any pictures during assemble to show the interior. Everything fit just like it was made for it... BTW, color choices were my daughter's...
  3. Some of you may have already seen this over at the HH board but for those that haven't... This is Revell's New Beetle that my daughter(she's 9) and I built together. Box stock. She cut out all the parts and did the clean up and fitting with a little assistance from me. She did the priming, her first time using the air brush. I shot the color which is Maybelline nail polish with nail polish clear. She did the detail painting and we worked together on assembly. Hope you like it, we had a lot of fun building it.
  4. I don't know John. I've always looked at the Dream Cruise as the highlight of the year. It's my favorite weekend. And like any other show, a lot of people try desperately to get a build finished just for the Cruise. Some even try for the highly prized, Woddington Award. It's a great idea, and it's yours. In the end it's up to you. My suggestion, FWIW, would be to let it go on as planned. I know some things have changed and that is a shame but it's a real treat for the regulars and a big dose of shock and awe for the new guys. On the other hand, if you want to do one here too I'm all for it! It is my favorite. But just in case Gregg and Jairus aren't familiar with it, you might want to prepare them...
  5. Yep, I'm gonna like it here.
  6. What the heck, I may as well get involved too... You know guys, I have my opinions and my own reasons for being here. I'd rather keep them to myself. But there is one I'd like to share. I just want a place to go to share my builds, look at other people's builds, maybe learn something new and who knows, I may even be able to help someone else learn something. And I want to enjoy being there. Here. The one other thing I'd like to say here is this, between this thread and one that's going on over there, I get the feeling a line is being drawn. And I don't think that's good. I've seen it happen too many times before with related message boards. I'd sure hate to see them all go down the tube. I'm new, I'm nobody. I hate to start off trying to give advice or make a suggestion this big. And I hope you take this in the spirit it's intended. Can we just let it go? And build something? We're here, let's enjoy it.
  7. Thanks for the welcome and kind comments guys. I share your sentiments Daniel and Ken, but Here seems like the place to be. I've stopped by from time to time to check out some of the work going on here. And hey, I missed you guys. Oh yeh, I love this Mustang kit! Drove me crazy having to wait on it. I took the time to work on the wheelwells. The fronts weren't too bad, just some grinding. I cut out the rears and set them back about .125. As much as I could and still have the interior stock. Narrowed the differential and lowered it 3 inches front and rear. Wheels are 20" Pegasus with 18" tires stretched over them. Nice thing about those wheels is the way they mount it makes it easy to adjust the offset. Wish I had taken some In Progress pictures but didn't. I'll take some better pictures. Well, I'll be here as time allows. Still have a lot to learn but it sure is fun! One more thing, when you come across a good place to buy something is it alright to mention them here? Like a favorite hobby shop, resin caster or online retailer? Not talking about advertising, just giving credit where it's due.
  8. Don't think you'd get away from me that easily do you Daniel? Anyways, I'm new here too. Actually signed up a few months ago but never posted. I hope y'all don't mind me joining in. Let's see if I can get this image thing to work. Things move slowly here but I do build when I can. I live in VA. I'll be 50 tomorrow. Been back in the hobby almost 4 years. Till then, hadn't built anything since I was a kid. I like Mustangs, muscle cars, street rods and customs. A lot of you guys know me from another board. Thought it was time to join in. Those of you that do know me know I enjoy my privacy. That's why I hadn't posted until now. Didn't want to give out my real name. What the heck. There it is. Or at least it will be as soon as I update my profile. Well, it's good to see you guys again. Looking forward to seeing lots of great builds. Maybe even learning a thing or two.
