  1. so far so good!! looks great these are such cool kits.
  2. excellent build
  3. thanks you guys, i really appreciate it. i will try and get a few more shots, interior, a little more engine detail, rear end. i did do inner rear "fender" covers for the tires not in these photo's. these things BEG to be detailed that's for sure. the picture next to the last, the gold marking on the tire across from the turbo blue decal, is a stencil of the qualifying tire markings the SCCA was using at the time, i was lucky enough to get a good reference photo of it at mid-ohio. i know it's almost impossible to see from these photos, the insides of the panels are kevlar decaled.
  4. another older build.
  5. thanks for the compliments everyone. it sure was a fun build there were some fit issues and lot's of cussing! i think i logged around 450 hours in this all told.

    1 Fast Caddy

    great job!! beautiful work
  7. thanks everyone, it was a lot of fun! i bought the grand sport book by david freidman(?) for reference, great read by the way. the headers WERE a pain, lots of tweeking and shaving to get them right, i stayed completely box stock on this.
  8. i'll get some more shots, i just bought a new digital camera last month and like a knucklehead the resolution was WAY to high to download here. i did everything on this he did! the side mirrors were from a caprice, so are these, the front buckets from a fiero, ditto, i'll try to get some interior shots also i know those are almost impossible.
  9. thanks guys!! this was an OLD mad dogs resin kit, it was in BAD, i mean B A D shape, warped. uneven thickness. it took a lot of finessing to fit the monogram donor chassis. i am not sure if they are still in business, anyone that i talked to that worked with their products had horror stories. i was trying to download some engine shots last night. they wouldn't "finalize" for some reason. i'll see if i can get more up. i had this displayed at a regional IPMS in pittsburgh awhile ago and there was a guy that just kept walking up to the model, fine toothing it, backing off, and then repeating. i thought it was odd finally he asked who the builder was and i introduced myself, HE was the guy that painted the 1:1 car!!! he asked where i got the paint that it was spot on! really cool i came up with that shade through trial and error, and a LOT of luck. a blend of pactra paints, the engine block IS actually rose, the owner told me he didn't have any other paint at the time, and the chassis is a metallic grey. i will also try and get some better side views, boyd coddington wheels
  10. this is the ONLY non racing car i have ever built. a local guy has the 1:1 i jut thought it was sweet.
  11. thank you very much i appreciate that. here is the "rill dill"!! big ole 6.5 splay valve, lovely exhaust tune!
  12. YEP!! we (un-named caster ) are going to do that. though not totally correct, but it would still work for trans-am. also working on various "liveries"
  13. i had a 1987 for 8 years!! i loved that car the tamiya kit is spot on!! though the wheels on it would be an 85
  14. this one has been around awhile, i apologize if you may have seen it. i just wanted to show some different angles, probably 80-85% scratchbuilt. it was in scale auto a couple times. no detail shots just a side. i pretty much made the whole body other than the AMT olds rood and rear glass. the shot from above the rear window shows the weismann trans-axle and suspension components along with oil cooler dduct work.
  15. here is the version i am doing, the one that raced at mid-ohio. when you really start studying the reference photo's of the car from different races, the changes on the it are unreal. i'll have to get more photo's up soon, i took 2 scale inches out of the nose, 6 scale inches in front of the front wheel wells there just seemed to be too much overhang. i also squared the splitter, it seemed to be leaning downhill. angled the hood riser very steeply. cleaned up aound the hood vents a bit. this had so much primer on it. i started this years ago and it has been sitting, i posted a couple shots of my IMSA Olivetti Olds Cutlass Darin Brassfield drove in 92-93 and some folks were asking me about that.............well one thing lead to another. i had started the merkur with the intentions of having it possibly cast some day.
  16. really good chance this could become a trans-kit using the revell imsa mustangs, trans-am mustangs and camaros chassis. my question is this, would there be an interest? a very well known resin caster would be doing the kits.
