While this is not an impossible task, the issue is that they are such a small part, that you would print 10 and maybe get 5 that didn’t break. Then because they are so small, and difficult to to deal with, a printer would have to charge more than anyone would want to pay for them.
There is a resin that is “tougher “, but it costs 2x as much as the normal resin. It is more flexible and would work better for these small parts, but again, the cost issue.
On your own, no big deal. You throw 20 on the build plate and do your best to save as many as you can.

Another issue is that there are many different sizes of wipers, small cars, big cars, 1/24, 1/25 scale, trucks, etc. They would have to offer several sizes.
I think most would agree, it is not a product that they can sell and not lose money on.

thats good information, looks like I will scrath build the wipers , i've removed the molded wipers on my AMT Avanti. Thank you !

  2. Aurora decided to extend it's Universal Monsters series of kits with 'The Forgotten Prisoner'. Being made up by Aurora this subject was never actually in a Universal movie , but it follows the same subject material. This build is based on a Mobius re-release and has a few modifications : the chains are Hobby Lobby items, the bars are real steel, the skulls have some added sculpturing, and the Hobby Lobby base was added. Paint is craft acrylic.

  3. Has anyone built the Larry Hess Rambler ? He competed in the 1967 Rebel 400. Everyone knows about Penske's AMC NASCAR efforts but I've never seen a build of this car. Perhaps a Johan Rambler kit bashed with a Johan Petty kit?  Would like to see a build or hear some of your comments.

I’ll check in my spare parts bin. I “think” I may have a pair.

Thanks, I just now remembered to check my notifications. I also updated my post to include some decals for trade, let me know. Jon

  5. That's a good kit and a nice looking build. Thanks for answering a question I had regarding the Tamiya racing white being an off white, what I'm looking for. Incidentally, there's a guy on YouTube,  his channel is A4 I believe, he built this kit and his stuff worth checking out.

In '76 I was in the usmc stationed in hawaii. At the time I had a '67 nova gasser. Was sitting at a stop light in front of a car dealership and this guy came running out and said "You got to come in and see what we have in our show room". So I did. And guess what they had sitting there? Thats right, A corvair with a small block chevy sitting in the back seat! The guy wanted to make a deal with me for my nova. I thought about it, but drove away in my nova. Your build reminds me of that day. Very well done and thanks for bringing back a fun memory for me.

Thank you for your service !

  7. I bought and built this AMT Corvair when it was a new release back in the '60's. I was influenced by a Hot Rod magazine article that showed the Crown V-8 conversion. Then it was lost for 50 years. But an old  model building friend contacted me saying he had one of my old models ! So he sent it back to me, in pieces in a zip lock bag. So I rebuilt it with a few more skills than I had 50 years ago. The AMT kit has a generic Chevy small block mated to the Corvair transaxle. Paint is Tamiya rattle can. A radiator is placed under those rear scoops where the Corvair engine used to be. All the parts are from the original build, just recommissioned. I did add photo etched Dzus fasteners, something not available 50 years ago !

that's a sweet looking Vette, I'm a sucker for red and salad shooter wheels. Being a 30+ year old Vette they do need a little TLC now and then, I know mine has - new rubber bits, shocks, tires, etc. But my '93 has 92K miles. It runs great and is tight for an older C4. Yours looks great, wish mine had only 40K miles. I'm sure your Z has a lighter feel and is more tossable.

  9. Hello, I am looking for (2) clear headlight lenses as follows - .27"   ( 9/32" )   ( 7 mm )  in diameter, a little larger ok. The Avant kit I'm building has chromed headlights that I want to replace with clear O.E.M. style lenses. I have the racing decal sheet from the AMT Avanti kit for trade. I need the stock OEM badges and instrument decals on the sheet but the racing decals including the Mooneye's and large Studebaker logo's are very nice, retro, and go for trade.  Hoping someone would be kind enough to accommodate my request. I would be happy to return your postage in stamps with a trade. Thank you !

Thanks for this link ! Unfortunately most of the Photobucket stuff is gone and it looks like his build coverage stopped some time in 2016. But there were a few semi-complete photo's, a massive build ! I worked at the Bradenton Florida Pierce/Oshkosh refurb center and we started the rebuild of a Bahama hurricane damaged unit like this, I left before it was finished, it was massive. Once again thank you.

The footwells on the C4's are deeper than any other Vette before or since. That adds to the difficulty of getting in or out. On the later models like the C7 they did a You-Tube video of how to get in and out of the Vette.

there's a similar video for the C4. The guy is about 30, 150 lb, and steps in and out like it's a lowered F-150 ! Michael Jordan had C4's that Chevy gave him I suppose, don't know how he did it.

That's a nice clean car! The aftermarket has really come on for these cars the past few years.  I drove a friend's '88 convertible and found it a nice riding & driving car, my crippled self just had problems getting in & out...LOL

Ya the getting in/out part is for the young regarding the C4, I'm going on 70 but in decent shape despite two knee jobs. I have a routine for in/out and as long as I can have the door wide open I'm good. Besides, I love the 'cockpit' experience and driving it so much........
