My boyfriend and I are taking Bailey (my 15 yr old nephew) to the North American International Auto Show in Detroit tomorrow (Sat) since he's never been there, then we're going to head to the Model Cave in Ypsilanti on our way back home. Anyone else here planning on going? I'm looking forward to the show of course, but also the hobby shop LOL. I didn't go last year, but Bailey asked if there would be supercars there. Usually there are so I looked it up to make sure, and I couldn't find Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, etc on the show floor map so I looked into it and I guess they started to put all the super expensive luxury & exotic cars in the MGM Grand. The kicker? It's closed off to the general public (unless you are one of the 100 people who are willing to pay $500 PER TICKET to get in). Otherwise it's by invitation only, basically because they don't want the "general public" touching/sitting in the cars because most people at the show are not in the market for an exotic or ultra luxury car. So no 458 Italia, Aston One-77, Lamborghini Aventador, etc. for us I guess. I understand why the manufacturers did it, but when they were at Cobo Hall before, they were always roped off and people couldn't touch them or sit in them anyway. So they separated them because rich people don't want to have to walk around in the same room as non rich people (I seriously read that, just in other words on one site). Oh well, I'm still eager to go LOL.
