Making good use of some enforced time off. These are two of Aoshima Beemax's Porsche 935 K2 as raced by the Kremer group. Kit had decals for both versions so why not do em both. Bought an extra kit and the photo etch set to go with them. Doing two at once is extra work but in the long run saves time especially when it comes to painting. White car is painted with Tamiya TS-26 white. Green car is a custom mix of Gunze Sangyo H-46 Emerald Green with some "other stuff" added to make it match the decals. Turns out the decals were not going to be on the same car but on the bright side the two of them match. These kits went together very well and I can't say enough for Aoshima's quality. Further description below the photos. Thanks for looking. Chassis has a surprising amount of detail considering these are mostly curbside. PE discs are nice but this is the only time you will see them. Seatbelts came with the PE set and the material was nice but it took some super sticky glue to keep them together. At least they gave me extra and now I can make some more . Interior was rather sparse but what was there was good. All finished and decalled. This job took most of two days. Decals were very good and responded to solvent and heat well. Those fender vents are usually a terror to decal over but the decals made it easy peazy. Either that or I am getting used to it. Rear end view. There were extra PE aero tabs in the kit but I could not find any reference where they used them . So the only ones i found were the ones over the rear fenders. Engine plate is also PE. I left the wheel covers off on Bob Wollecks car because sometimes they used them and sometimes not. The kit windshield wipers were OK but I liked the PE ones better. These required some special bending, painting and gluing techniques. And 10 times the work. Heres the reason for doing both versions. Its kind of a theme here. Back two are 1/20 Tamiya. #2 white car is a Testors/Gunze 934 variant, #4 car is a modified diecast and not so good one at that, smaller 1/43 one is more of the same. 70 & 51 are the current build, and front center is Tamiya's 1/24 934.
