This project has been dug out and put back so many times it's a wonder the box isn't worn out! It began as a very ambitious project with opening doors, rear cowl, and trunk. Given the complex contours of the doors, this was way beyond my skills at the time- it was simply impossible to get the door edges and openings to align and look good, so I decided to scrap the idea, glue the door panels in place, and fill them in. Recently I acquired some superchargers from Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland which were included in the 63 Ford pickup. This eliminated the need for trying (unsuccessfully) to fabricate one myself. A few days before New Years I dug it out and determined to finish it mainly as a styling exercise- which was the original intent! The original engine was a strange v-12 (Duesenberg never made a v-12) so a Monogram engine will be transplanted. Tires from a 1/32nd scale big rig were just right! The windshields were from a Testor's release of the 48 Ford. The new front fenders are from the parts box. Let's see what happens!
