disabled modeler Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Id like to thank everyone that donated kits, etc. for the disabled builders group....your kindness is greatly appreciated and thanks to you all the group will continue to have projects/kits to build in our next few months. It never fails to amaze me just how kind and caring our plastic brothers are rather if its a needed part or a kit that means something special to another builder. Thanks brothers.
gbdolfans Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Hi Mark,I hear you. I am working on something that I think would help you. I can't say any more now. How many modelers in your group that are active? You can PM me if you want to. Thanks,George

Do all 10 of you get together at once? That would be a blast! Hi Brain buddy!.... We try to get as many together as possible but health, etc. makes it tough so i do one on one with many of them. Congrats on yours...snap kits are good for all ages they still can be built into very nice models...my problem is my group likes the late 50s through 70s body styles not many snap kits out there in that body style. They seem to enjoy them as much as the glue kits...LOL... I have only gotten my nephew to built one snap kit but trying to get him more interested in them. Yep we have fun together in the group...nice to see them active too.
southpier Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 you're doing good work there, Mark. i would much rather "donate-direct" than give a dollar at the supermarket checkout line to an organization that might see 2 cents of it after everyone else gets their take. and i absolutely refuse to give money to the little beggars with the tin cans that circulate around the entrances. begging for funds does not teach young people anything but, well, begging. i'm nobody's crowdfunder. scouts and athletic teams should be out working for their monies. Veterans are the only guys (& gals) to whom i'll give a cash donation. most i see selling poppies are old enough to appreciate the value of a dollar.
disabled modeler Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 Thanks Joe!.... I am just trying to help others that are often forgotten. While I am in no real position to fund it I have for the most part of 5 years on my own...rough times found me too and the donations of kits are a huge blessing to them and the builders group it helps keep it all going. I do have to agree with you on donating funds...there lucky if they see 20 cent on a dollar in the end most times. Here I have a policy...nothing ever goes to waste all and any extra parts get used on other future projects its just how I was raised. Having been there with nothing to do for months on end but lay in a bed and watch TV all day long I just had to try to change it somehow if I could.
disabled modeler Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 I just got a box of kits for the guys from a very kind member here...thank you!
