Mr. Can Am Garage Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 in 1/24 or 1/25. Anyone got any ideas how to do the bricks? I know Plastruct has a "brick" sheet and while I've never seen one in person, I have been told it's ain't so great.
BIGTRUCK Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 John there was an article in one of the model mags how to do it with "plaster of paris" looked easy on paper .
Dag Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Hobby Lobby has sheets of scale bricks in the dollhouse section, I believe they also sell bags of individual bricks. The picture below shows a sheet I used for my photo diorama. Once I had them glued in place I used non sanded tile grout for the mortar.

Alas, no Hobby Lobby around here.

I'm not setup for casting at this time but I wouldn't mind seeing them in person before committing. PM coming your way and Thanks!
dptydawg Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Model Builders Suppy has sheets of architectural coverings in 1-24th scale. Here is a link to their home page. They are a decent source of diorama material http://www.modelbuilderssupply.com Thanks Carl Avis
paulcolt Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 their was also an article in one of the mags (forget which one) that shows how to use drywall and scribe the brick patern into it.

I did a bit of digging last night but had no luck. I will keep looking, frustrating as I can even picture the bag they are in.
Mr. Can Am Garage Posted July 26, 2006 Author Posted July 26, 2006 Thanks Darrin. Hopefully, they'll work for that "someone".
Brian Fishburn Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 I have a Hobby Lobby close, if that is of any assistance

Mike Whatshisname Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Dave Pye of MCM dio column did an article on my drywall method about 2 years ago. Very easy and good results. Just a dental pick, or other scribe and a piece of drywall and you can have great looking brick walls.
Mr. Can Am Garage Posted August 3, 2006 Author Posted August 3, 2006 Darrin, Bricks received. Thank you kindly!
