Let's say someone wants to scratchbuild a brick building...

Anyone got any ideas how to do the bricks?

I know Plastruct has a "brick" sheet and while I've never seen one in person, I have been told it's ain't so great.

John there was an article in one of the model mags how to do it with "plaster of paris" looked easy on paper .

Hobby Lobby has sheets of scale bricks in the dollhouse section, I believe they also sell bags of individual bricks. The picture below shows a sheet I used for my photo diorama. Once I had them glued in place I used non sanded tile grout for the mortar.

Model Builders Suppy has sheets of architectural coverings in 1-24th scale. Here is a link to their home page. They are a decent source of diorama material

Dave Pye of MCM dio column did an article on my drywall method about 2 years ago. Very easy and good results. Just a dental pick, or other scribe and a piece of drywall and you can have great looking brick walls.
