Roadrunner Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 My big Revell Constitution has vac sails, but I'm not sure if I'll use them or not. Looks like you're keeping with it. At this rate, you'll be finished in no time.
philo426 Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 I still have to construct the main and mizzenmasts but the build seems to be going smoothly thus far!
Roadrunner Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Indeed it is. I'd like to also tackle the Heller HMS Victory one day, but who knows if that'll ever happen.
Roadrunner Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 If you ever do decide to tackle the Vasa, I have this book on the ship. I'd be more than happy to get you a copy.
philo426 Posted April 10, 2015 Author Posted April 10, 2015 Finished putting the sails on the foremast.next up;I will rig the bowsprit, jibboom and dolphin striker with both rope and chains.Looks good.
philo426 Posted April 13, 2015 Author Posted April 13, 2015 Began constructing the main mast and used the plastic yard mounts on the brass tube
Roadrunner Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Wow, you're moving right along. Bowsprit looks good.
Roadrunner Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Looking good. The more I look at this, the more I'm thinking I'm going to do my Constitution "sails on".
philo426 Posted April 23, 2015 Author Posted April 23, 2015 Yeah it does make an in your face impression for sure!
philo426 Posted April 25, 2015 Author Posted April 25, 2015 (edited) Finishing up the running rigging and nearing completion.I really like the way this one turned out but after building two fully rigged ships in a row it is time to pump the brakes.I will build a Revell 1/48 B-25 J.The only rigging on the Mitchell is the antenna wires! gtx6970 Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 I built a Cutty Sark many many many years ago..... Would love to do another one justice someday. Keep it going as you really have my interest.
philo426 Posted May 5, 2015 Author Posted May 5, 2015 Yeah she is done and I am now heavily into the 1/48 Revell B-25 J.
