Danny Lectro Posted July 24, 2016 Author Posted July 24, 2016 (edited) I applied some dry transfer decals from Revell's Pinewood Derby line. I did notice the very obvious carrier film left around the decals after application, but I thought it might look like someone had stuck on some really cheap vinyl decals, so I left them in place to reinforce the slap-dash appearance I'm going for. Danny Lectro Posted July 24, 2016 Author Posted July 24, 2016 (edited) I tried using black chrome BMF, but I thought it made any overlaps way too obvious, so I did the trim with masking and semi-gloss black Tamiya paint. https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/t31.0-8/13582171_10207815226916685_4240299488222613609_o.jpg Edited July 24, 2016 by Danny Lectro
Danny Lectro Posted July 24, 2016 Author Posted July 24, 2016 (edited) I used a pale gray-blue paint from Ammo Of Mig Jimenez to make it look like the paint had been chipped away from the fiberglass parts attached to the body. https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/t31.0-8/13568925_10207821334629374_481021038425948479_o.jpg Edited July 24, 2016 by Danny Lectro
Danny Lectro Posted July 25, 2016 Author Posted July 25, 2016 Tamiya Transparent Red to represent anodized lug nuts, and some Ammo of Mig Jimenez gray panel line wash in the hubs to give some depth. Ammo of Mig Jimenez Metallic Silver and Chipping to make chips and scratches on the steel parts of the body.
Danny Lectro Posted July 25, 2016 Author Posted July 25, 2016 (edited) Body attached to chassis, almost done except for a couple of little details. "Under Glass" thread can be found here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/115536-nissan-240z-street-racer/ Edited July 25, 2016 by Danny Lectro
