There is no such thing as a "duh" question....only "duh" answers. The one's I used in the dealership in the 70's were, Oxygen: "Pea Green". Acetylene: "Semi Gloss Black". Don't know if that has changed..the 70's were a long time ago. :o Fury3

as fury3 said those are the common colors....but they can be any colors

Yep typically Rust Red,Black,Orange,Etc., but it also can really depend on the Vendor and how they mark their tanks.... In most cases, a vendor will use any color tank, so long as it still meets pressure specs, and is poperly labeled for it's contents...

Seems to me that there must be a standard color code for gases under pressure. Labels can go removed, scratched off, etc.. leaving a possible dangerous situation. Every commercial nitrogen bottle that I have seen is green.

Nope...Different regulators w/ diff thread sizes...only medical gasses are uniform!

I've bought CO2 in silver, red, and black :lol:

Every oxygen tank I have ever seen was green, and the Aceteleyne was usually pink, sometimes pale yellow.

Depends on dealer and length of service... I guess.
