Revell '68 Charger Question

Does the kit's grille look a little shallow to anyone else?

Does the grille from the original annual MPC '68 Charger fit the Revell body? Does the MPC grille look more accurate, or is it too deep? (Modelhaus repops it. It looks more accurate to me, but I'm not an expert on Chargers.)

Here's a pic of the two grills, and the mpc grill in a revell body, fit isn't the greatest, revell grill is a bit taller.

masked off the surround, and sprayed the grille itself with rustoleum satin black, and then cleaned up the edge with a toothpick with thinner. Looks pretty accurate to me.
