Stanced_VVTi Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Hello all! Ive always had a great deal of interest in cars and anything automotive. Ive never tried my luck with any sorts of models since I'm not the most gifted with patience. I have however been looking at some photos of models people have made and they are absolutely stunning and I can't help but want to give it a try. Like I said, I'm brand new at this and have seriously no clue what I'm doing. Im into JDM and mainly import cars. If anyone has any kit recommendations and supplies that are needed/helpful let me know, this would be much appreciated! Also any favorite brands of models would be amazing as well as where you purchase your kits and supplies from. Cant wait to get into the hobby and look forward to talking with you all!
Austin T Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Welcome to the forum, just a heads up there aren't many import guys like me and you around here but the ones here are all pretty swell guys (Also pay no attention to the import hating knuckle heads around here, they are all just caught up in some nostalgia trip ). As for good brands since your into Japanese subject matter your best bets are going to be Aoshima,Fujimi, and Tamiya when you have a chance give HobbyLinkJapan (WWW.HLJ.COM) a quick look and check out what they have. Revell has some import kits but they tend to either be of lower quality or are out of production and hard to come across.

Really appreciate the information and cant wait to start looking at some kits to start on. Found an ae86 kit today just browsing around that looked pretty neat so I was thinking of giving that a try. Cant wait to hear more from you as we seem to be loners in regards to imports. Thanks for the reply!
