Petetrucker07 Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 (edited) You are gonna need a wall for that, nevermind the shelf. Edited June 19, 2015 by Petetrucker07
anarximis Posted June 17, 2015 Author Posted June 17, 2015 i know right i might be putting it in a competition this October
gatorincebu Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Well it will certainly have a long wheelbase! Gonna watch this one to see how you finish it out. Be Well Gator
72 Charger Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Im interested to know why you painted the chassis and then cut it up ?
Tesla Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Wow Steven, that's what I call a stretch! Looking good.
Truck parts Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 That's a cool looking build. I will be following as you go on with the build
Truck parts Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Tim, Thank you for posting the pic. I love the look of the old cab over's with the big sleepers.
anarximis Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 i painted it mainly bc that what ive seen most builders do and to get the paint in the hard to reach areas on the original frame the extra axles are from an international 4300 wish i could get that kit for less than $40 i really like it but it met its end with a small child
anarximis Posted June 26, 2015 Author Posted June 26, 2015 any hint on the wiring that this truck would have in the engine bay and even on the frame i just need a basic concept
olsbooks Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Looking good! Trucktrader.com usually has some good pix. Be sure and look at their "auctiontime" section as well. Hanks Trucks also is a good ones. Or just spend some time looking at some of the multipage posts on "workbench" section here. Don't get hung up too much specifically looking for a Pete COE. The basics are the same regardless of make/model. One thing I noticed. Might want to double check your exhaust manifolds. Looks like they may be flip flopped. Keep it up! Peace
anarximis Posted June 26, 2015 Author Posted June 26, 2015 ill check that thank for catching it if i did
anarximis Posted June 26, 2015 Author Posted June 26, 2015 going by the instruction sheet its right but as you said its does not look right i have a 359 as well and they are completely different when i get to the exhaust system I'll most likely have to do so custom work all the way though so
anarximis Posted June 29, 2015 Author Posted June 29, 2015 ok so i found some rust-oleum that is chrome and it looks nice but ive found that it rubs off very easy so i tried to clean coat it with testors clean gloss and it destroyed the mirror like finish anyone know what wood work
Petetrucker07 Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 The tall skinny cans of Krylon chrome. But, with any of these spray chromes, it needs weeks of cure time.
Guest Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 The tall skinny cans of Krylon chrome. But, with any of these spray chromes, it needs weeks of cure time. You still can't clear the Krylon, it will turn milky and loose the shine
anarximis Posted June 29, 2015 Author Posted June 29, 2015 so after i use it on something dont touch it got it, my grandpa said try clean fingernail polish but i dont seem to have and but ill get some and test it, ill let you guys know
Petetrucker07 Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 That sucks. All I can say is, let the spray chrome sit for about a week or two. Then you.can kinda handle it. Clearing it isn't advised since it dulls the finish. Or if you have an airbrush, give Alclad a shot.
anarximis Posted June 30, 2015 Author Posted June 30, 2015 i wish i could buy an airbrush iam trying to save up for one but not sure about which one to get
Petetrucker07 Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 I have the Paache H set. It comes with 3 different sized tips. I got it for around 65 bucks on the bay. I'm still learning with it. My first attempt at Alclad was a failure. It's definitely trial and error.
