JohnU Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Accually, I was joking! At least they're serving a purpose as advertising rather than being crushed as cash for clunkers! Even if I could afford and had the room to "save" these cars, I wouldn't have time or live long enough to restore them anyway! Kinda like the model stash I have!
Krazy Rick Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 No, it makes them both an idiot and rich. I just call them disgusting greedy sick pigs - they have no soul
Tom Geiger Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 (edited) It is easy to lament the situation, but, who here is actually willing to step up and do something? The situation is that with hobbyists, many of us can only have one collector car. Would you want that to be an old Ford 4 door sedan, probably with a six? Not exactly an exciting car. When I used to run in the demo derby cars like that would show up. When asked, the owner would tell you that he tried to sell it for a year, and finally he needed to get it off his property. Nobody was buying! Edited June 23, 2015 by Tom Geiger
forthlin Posted July 11, 2015 Author Posted July 11, 2015 Well, if you hate to see the car in that condition, what have you done to remedy the situation? Have you offered them money for it, help to restore it or talked to them about it? It is easy to lament the situation, but, who here is actually willing to step up and do something? I don't want itI asked the yard if they wanted to sell it several years ago & they said no.
forthlin Posted July 11, 2015 Author Posted July 11, 2015 I drive from Chicago to Fenton Mi. at least once a week. I think that I pass this place. Yes? No?[/quoteIf you go through Ft. Wayne, In. you probably have passed it.
