John Clutch Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 (edited) Are models scaled by length or by area? I know the rc drag cars I build are scaled by length, but I just wanted to make sure. Thanks. I'm testing my lathe and patience here. I know I forgot to cut the keeper grooves lol I was going for a 2.300" valve with a .375 stem, which would be .031 for 1/12 scale, but I chickened out at .040 when I started getting some vibration. So the lathe needs a slight tune up. Edited June 25, 2015 by John Clutch

SSNJim Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 By volume. A 240" long, 48" tall and 48" wide full size car will be 20" X 4" X 4" in 1/12 scale. All dimensions of a piece get divided by the scale. The theoretical car mentioned earlier would be 10" X 2" X 2" in 1/24 scale.
John Clutch Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 Here is the pic of the valve I tried loading with the original topic.
