BIGTRUCK Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Everybody seems to have a set of these wood trays around the house or saw them cheap somewhere. We had 3 of 4 and the carrier stand was wobbly so the wife bought new ones. I took the old ones and lightly sanded the tops took some old classic newsprint model ads foam, brushed some clear gloss on the backs and mounted them on the trays.Once they were where I wanted them I brushed a few more coats on top. I let them sit a day and put on 2 more coats. They work with gloss comic book covers or subject you want.
Zarana-X Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 I did this with a bookshelf using Mod Podge. As any light colored paper shows bleed through, I would suggest using photocopies.
Quick GMC Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 You can tape off the edges to create a dam and get some ultra clear 2 part epoxy and make a nice thick clear coat for it.
