dwanderson Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Looking for better results for airbrush painting. I use tamiya acrylics and result very from eggshell to pitting to ever looking dusty. I try to do light coats but I think I might rush it a bit. I run my comp. around 35 psi. Any tips would be helpful. Thanks.
Tesla Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 (edited) I've been gathering information on airbrushing Tamiya acrylics, and it seems that the general consensus is 10- 12 PSI. Have you been thinning the paint?A good source of information are the numerous YouTube videos on using Tamiya acrylics. Edited July 19, 2015 by Tesla
DiscoRover007 Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 I'd switch to vallejo for everything except Tamiya engine color paints(xf-16,x-11 chrome silver,) and clear acrylics.
dwanderson Posted July 20, 2015 Author Posted July 20, 2015 I thin 2:1. The only other paint I've used is testors and the results came out worse than tamiya. Maybe Vallejo would be something to try.
