gman3000 Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Hi I'm brush painting a model car body, and was wondering if I can sand between coats? Thanks
Mike Kucaba Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Sure you can, after they are dry...very dry.
gman3000 Posted September 4, 2015 Author Posted September 4, 2015 The coat has pick up some dust, that i want to remove. whats best sand paper to use? Thanks
Mike Kucaba Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Very hard to tell without seeing how smooth it is now. Maybe start with 1000 wet or dry and see how that goes.?
StevenGuthmiller Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Chances are pretty good that sanding will do little but benefit a brush paint job.You may even want to consider sanding & polishing your final coat to help eliminate brush marks.Just be careful not to sand through the paint to the plastic.I don't think I'd start with anything coarser than 400 grit. Steve
gman3000 Posted September 5, 2015 Author Posted September 5, 2015 thanks all, what to polish with? that will work on enamel. What about applying Klear?
gman3000 Posted September 5, 2015 Author Posted September 5, 2015 update. I've been using thinned down paint and have got brush marks down considerable.
