Hello,

I am 50 years old and am going to build something last time I built a model car was in the 70"s. Any how my other hobbies  are scroll saw wood working and I have a air brush  that I use to paint wood with.  I watched some YouTube videos  and it sure looks like times have changed since I was a kid. So I am going to nose around here and figure out kind of model  to do and skill level would be good . I saw in one video there are some cheap kits to stay away from. So I am guessing Revell is a good kit to start out with? I will paint it since I have a air brush. Is there any certain paint (brand) that I  should buy. Where should I buy a kit from b&m (brick & mortar) store?. The only hobby store we have is Micheles we got target and Walmart and places like that. My brother is a old sailor and was on the Coral sea during Nam. He had brain surgery and  is living with me. He is having  hard time healing and such so I think it would be great to do a ship maybe he will get into it.  Thanks in advance for all your help and advise. Karl

We have a pretty good hobby shop in Redding...it's on East Cypress. All Round Hobby  222-5679.

They are focused on RC stuff, but they have a good selection of model kits and supplies .
