Nova-ss Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 hi all,I'm some will not be understanding, but I'm looking for pictures of the fuel tank and how it is mounted to the frame stock.I'm working on a mongrame 40 ford pickup.I cut out the x member, put the holes in it and toke out exhaust.I'm looking for restoration pictures or stock factory pictures of fuel tank, how its mounted and where the exhaust pipes went.I've look at Google, many different searches. if you have these pictures or know where to find them I would like copies. and know how the stock tank fits in and mounts.thank you...Chris
MGL Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Thats just about the coolest thing I've seen this week, even cooler than watching the Navy missle launch off the coast Saturday. I have a '40 convertable in my stash I plan on building like my dads first car and this will be a big help, thanks Harry.
RAT-T Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/?p=25733VERY COOL HARRY, CAN I ASK HOW YOU FOUND THAT ON THE HAMB? IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A REGULAR THREADTHANKS
Harry P. Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 I went to google, typed in "1940 Ford Chassis," and did an image search. I looked at the images and clicked on one that showed the chassis with the gas tank installed. It took less than 30 seconds.

Art Anderson Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 1940 was the last model year that Ford pickups used exactly the same chassis & suspension as their passenger cars--so yes, the gas tank should mount in the same place as on a coupe or sedan.Art
