Lee "Spud" Loggins Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 The king showed up for 68 speedweeks sporting a strange vinyl roof. While it served no real aerodynamic purpose, it did draw attention away from other aero changes to the car. AMT kit modified to a race car. Nose turned down, front bumper narrowed. Full belly pan underneath. Powerslide decals.
bbowser Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 The Petty's resort to trickery, the devil you say?! Great model. How did NASCAR react to the belly pan?
Lee "Spud" Loggins Posted December 16, 2015 Author Posted December 16, 2015 They were more worried about the vinyl roof.
retroguy Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 interesting about the belly pan,did anyone else do it...?
Lee "Spud" Loggins Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 Smokey tried it a few years earlier on a Chevelle but NASCAR shot it down. Of course Petty was able to get away with a little more because of who he was.
