junkyardjeff Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I picked it up today at a thrift type store and since it was the oldest toy I grabbed it,its about the same size or slightly larger as the kingsize Matchbox and Corgis. Its made by a company I never heard of,the Winross company of Rochester NY.
Yenkocamaro Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Nice find! I've heard of them, they have been making trucks for a long time.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winross_Models Cheers,Lance
Yenkocamaro Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Found this one on Ebay.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Howard-Johnson-Container-Truck-68-Winross-Truck-Ex-Lionel-Train-Scenery-/272083441711?hash=item3f596fd82f:g:aqYAAOSw14xWH~Us Cheers,Lance
junkyardjeff Posted January 3, 2016 Author Posted January 3, 2016 I only paid 10 dollars for the one I have so it looks like I done well,it is missing one of the doors on the trailer but otherwise in really nice shape.
scummy Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Yep been around for a long while , i only every seen white motor trucks . I was lucky to get two off ebay years ago .
disabled modeler Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Nice truck...! I have an old Greyhound raised roof bus...its kind of cool.
AzTom Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 I have a few posted on here. They are 1/64 scale and nice trucks. The market is not as hot as it once waw but I like them. $10.00 No shipping is good even with a missing door. Check the completed auctions for a better feel of what they sell for.
junkyardjeff Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 I can not pass up old toy trucks if they are priced right.
junkyardjeff Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 There are almost 7000 Winross trucks on ebay and the prices are all over the place so I did not do as good as I thought but I like it and might get more.
disabled modeler Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 My bus is larger than a 1/64th...maybe 1/43rd..?Id like to find 1/25th scale camping trailers that look 50s-70s era...plastic or resin...been wanting to build one to put behind my 69 Plymouth 4door wagon I made.
